Has anyone heard Kanye West’s song, Heard ‘Em Say, featuring Adam Levine from Maroon 5? Well in that song, Kanye west goes “Allah hu Akbar”. If you don’t believe me, just look up the lyrics. You can’t tell by listening to the song, because he says it weird.
He goes: “…so I guess we just PRAY like the minster says Allah hu Akbar, throw em in hot cars…”

Anyone could say the shahaadah, or any other Arabic phrase but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are Muslims. SubhanAllah, all actions are by intentions. Allahu Alim what his intentions were and I don’t listen to music…so, maybe in that particular song, it just ‘rhymed’ with the rest of the lyrics?? May Allah guide him … thats all I could say:) Insha’Allah!
True, but by the mere fact he knows the phrase “Allah hu Akbar” means he is in contact with Muslims, or knows about Muslims and Islam. Therefore he may know more things. Rappers like Kanye, dont usually rap about things they don’t know about. He’s a different type of rapper then like 50 cent or Ludacris who rap about typical things.

I searched on google and turns out it’s likely he’s referring to one Sheikh Abu Akhbar from Baghdad, who said “We simply don’t understand why THE US, which carries THE flag Of democracy, is standing in THE way Of free elections,” which sort of makes sense considering the context of the song which is all political and stuff…

I did grow up with alot of muslims and yeah i did take that bit out ‘Allah hu Akbar’ because when my friends were praying at school, i was waiting for one of them, and i heard him say Allah hu akbar, so i incorperated this in my music because i started to write it out then.
