MTV Banned Ads

For the first time (at least to me) MTV has advertised something positive, halal and healthy for young people. Too bad the US governmnet banned them. Why? I don’t really know. You know how our government is. Probably because the 3 pictures had the 9/11 scene on them. I loved the ads. It makes you think about the real problems of the world. Thank you MTV for making them!

MTV Banned Ad about Poverty MTV Banned Ad about Hunger MTV Banned Ad about HIV

If anyone finds the video, let me know. Thanks!

9/11…People need to get over it.

      Move on. Damn

    6. rooq May 16th, 2006 at 2:49 am

I guess cuz the ads had the burning towers in them, and the governement felt the message would seem to trivialize 9/11.

I don’t know man, it’s definitely a very touchy subject and some people are a lot more sensitive to it than others. I could see people being offended by these ads.

    7. Faiza May 16th, 2006 at 12:26 pm

Wow.. I agree. Some of a wake-up call… Indeed, there is other problems and other people to be taken care of. I agree with Mr GC, you have to move on and make the world better for the ones who are left in this world.

The ads were “banned” by the U.S. Government? Do you have a link to a news story substantiating that? Or do you just copy and paste things from other people’s blogs without finding out if they’re true? Since when has the government been able to “ban” advertisements in magazines? This isn’t China, or North Korea, or Iran… the government can’t just “ban” ads that they don’t like from appearing in newspapers and magazines.

yo hater, u need to be a lover:

      http://www.couplescompany.com/Features/Politics/2005/MTV.htm

read that, governmnet bans aren’t usually on the news, CUZ THEY BANNED! DUH!

    10. Hater May 17th, 2006 at 9:35 pm

Sorry, just because someone reads something on “couples.com” doesn’t make it true. Far from a legitimate source.

governmnet bans aren’t usually on the news, CUZ THEY BANNED! DUH!

So ignorant. Are you trying to say that newspapers aren’t allowed to report something that’s banned or censored? Are you serious?

    11. Mujahideen Ryder May 18th, 2006 at 12:29 am

lol hater, welcome to america. there is censorship here.

ESPECIALLY FOR muslims. apparently your a non-muslim, so u have no idea.

saying anything that doesn’t agree with the US government simply jokingly, could get you deported.

but then again, you won’t know.

I love this kind of publicity!
it really shows how the world is stock in one moment!… every day people die for differents kinds of reasons…but, the sad thing is that the majoritie of this deaths avoid them to happenned!
Obviesly and the saddest part is that the united states goverment will continue Prohibiting this kind of publicity because obviusly they dont want all the country to opened there eyes and look what is really happening!…

They will not allow these type of ads for the same reason they hesitate to show the images of that day.
This is a reminder that pisses the rank and file Americans off!
They do it for the safety of our muslim “brothers and sisters”.
I find it odd that you make fun of the political correctness of our country, yet scream and cry like babies throwing tantrums when someone supposedly defiles the quran.

Safety? There are movies about 9/11 and the replay it over and over ever so often on many News Channels when they want to talk about Islam and 9/11.

Are you kidding me? With all due respect, please watch TV. I have seen the towers falling down as far as 2006. I haven’t seen it yet in 2007.

I am making fun of this. It’s so hypocritcal that when 9/11 is shown in a tottaly different context that makes American policies look bad they ban it.

So much for freedom of speech?

And was I the only one that heard about the movies in the theters about 9/11?

    19. anybody January 30th, 2007 at 3:04 pm

they did make movies and they do play about 9/11 on history channel like on random times.

    20. Melissa In Texas January 31st, 2007 at 3:22 am

      Dearie, Hollywierd is one thing.
Yes, there have been movies made.
I was mainly speaking of the “MSM”, ABC, NBC, CBS. Cable is a whole different matter.
Oddly enough, the three major players, with the exception of the 9-11 anniversary (such an odd way to state it) seldom show anything related to it, unless forced to, ie: movie reviews, etc.
How do these ads make American policies look bad? Because there is hunger all over the world? Because people have AIDS, again all over the world? Because poverty is something that affects so very many? Disease, famine and poverty are not new afflictions. They have been around since time began. They are issues that are dealt with (or not) globally. Hence the shelters, food kitchens, government programs that assist people that cannot help themselves.
Have you ever volunteered in a soup kitchen, or given blankets to the homeless, donated your money and your time to help someone who’s home needed repair or sat and spoke to a homebound elderly person, just to keep them company for a while, donate to the Red Cross to assist hurricane victims and their families?

If these ads would do one thing, to open the eyes of the “me” generation and make them extend a hand to someone that needs it, then perhaps I am wrong.
To use these images gratuitously though, just does not seem right.

Mellisa from Texas (Home of the racist, phsycotic, self obsessed, power hungry George “Dubya” Bush)

You mentioned the U.S. government has shelters and soup kitchens. It’s the bloody government that made these people homeless by creating a debt ridden society. So many people starving around the world could all be fed if the U.S. stopped charing them interest on the loans (aid relief) they keep giving them. If you fatass AmeriKKKan’s spent you money on charity instead of gambling (LAS VEGAS, National Lottery) then there would be no need for soup kitchens and shelters.

Islam is the only religion that ensures charity and prevents homelessnes and poverty. Muslims are obliged to give 2.5% of their total wealth to charity anually. Muslims are obliged to provide food/clothing/accomodation for the poor during the Holy month of Ramadan and a sacrifice in the name of Allah for the poor after every Hajj annually. Islam forbids interest, gambling, corrupt capitalist democracies!!!!

So you go and hand out a blanket at a shelter once during you life and gamble your money and pay interest for the remainder. All Muslims continuousely throughout the year give charity big or small.

Save you lectures for Bill Gates, Jacob Rockafella, The World Bank, The International monetary fund, Illuminati’s and Freemasons alike who could all wipe out world debt, poverty and homelessness but won’t!!!!!!

      Peace [edit]

i watched it and….damn! why anyone would want to ban this type of ad???
Truly a good example of how the world is going down……..

well….just to say, Freedom of Speech is no more…. so SAD!
