Why I love non-Muslims, especially Orthodox Jews

chillrabbi.jpgI was at the protest in NYC against Israel yesterday and I must say I had shocking eye opener. I will go into some details (what I remember) of my time in the city.

I took the train from my house to get to the city. Took the subway to the place where the protest was. I came half an hour early. I watched all the (bias) news media set up which included, CBS News, FOX News, CNN, ABC News and a whole lot more. I saw the people from A.N.S.W.E.R. setting up a large “Free Palestine” banner. As time passed on more and more people came. The protest began 20 minutes before the official start time. The NYPD set up the barricades on the street to box off the area where the protest was. When the actual time, 4:30, came for the official start of the protest, there were at least 300 to 400 people already there. By 5:00, there were probably 1,000 people there. You could see at least 10 to 15 Palestinian and Lebanese flags. A lot of signs saying “Israel is a terrorist state” and “Stop US Aid to Israel”. The chants were: “Free free Palestine!”, “Stop bombing Lebanon!”, “Olmert, Olmert, what do you say? How many kids have you killed today?”, “Hey hey, ho ho, Zionism’s got to go!”, “1, 2, 3, 4! Occupation no more! 5, 6, 7, 8! Israel is a terrorist state!” and others I forget.

Now the things that shocked my mind. There were so many non-Muslims there protesting with us. I had this thought that there were going to be a lot of Muslims (picture a lot of hijabis, bearded brothers, brothers with kufis, etc.). Instead I saw few Muslims and more non-Muslims. I had a great feeling inside that there is hope in this country after all and that Muslims aren’t the only ones that think Bush is an idiot and Zionism is evil.

The most craziest thing I have ever seen was a bunch of Jewish (yeah, JEWISH) rabbis holding Palestinian and Lebanese flags with posters of the Israeli flag with a red cross-circle over it. These were the Orthodox Jews of Neturei Karta (Jews Against Zionism). I will never ever again be bias towards all Jews. I put a picture in this entry of one of the rabbi’s holding up a sign.

Lastly, me and my friend posed next to the 5-10 pro-Israeli Zionists for fun. As you can see we are peacefully standing there smiling and taking a picture while the angry Zionists shout at us and one of them even gives us the finger. This shows the true nature of these Zionists.

  1. Lebanon has a substantial Christian Population. Whatever, people hate each other, I am going to go find some food. والله اعلم

  2. I’ve always said I love the Orthodox Jews.. and not just because of their political stance, but because of how similar certain practices of theirs are to ours (gender separation, modesty values, daily prayer, etc. etc). 🙂

Told ya that there are good Jews and we can’t typify a people like that if we expect people not to classify us all. 🙂

I wish I coulda been at the protest.. There’s a few more and a bigger one in August, I believe.

  3. You guys should not just dismiss “DAVE”, because he makes a point. Zionism and people who support it are NOT in the majority. Those who support Israel are not necessarily Zionists.

The Zionists believe that ALL the land should go to Israel as the ‘promised land’. But they are a minority these days. The majority of those who support Israel, and the Israelis themselves, believe that the solution is for two states, living sided by side in peace, is the only answer. A state/country for Palestinians and a state/country for the Israelis also.

The Israelis have already backed away from much of the land that they once occupied, and given it to the Palestinians. But it takes both sides working together to have peace. Hamas and Hezbollah do not want peace, they do not want two separate countries/states. Therefore, each time it looks like peace might be possible, they do something to cause the Israelis to relaliate.

It is the innocent Palestinian and Lebanese (and Israeli) people who will suffer because of the acts of two small groups who do not want any Israeli state.

It’s a mess and according to scripture (yours or ours) there is really no solution until end-times.

And to answer the question of one commenter here, yes there are Muslims/Arabs/Christians living in Israel, just as their are Christians living in Lebanon.

Nothing is really black and white these days.

    assalamu alaikum

Although yes, indeed there are non-Zionist Jews, they really cannot be part of the overall equation as they are, unfortunatly, a horribly small minority that they really represent no one but themselves.

debbie: Whether they support the “greater” Israel or not, Zionists are any people who support a state for the Jews in Palestine, however small it is and in whatever region. Therefor Zionists don’t have to be Jews nor do they even have to believe in the so-called “promised land”.

    wassalam

  5. Yes Abdul Rahman Hilme, you are correct. Zionists don’t have to be Jews. You say that Zionists are any people who support a state for the Jews in Palestine. So does that mean that is PM Abbas pushes for two states side-by-side, HE is a Zionist? That is what he apparently agreed to with Condi Rice this morning.

BTW, Hezbollah rushed the Israeli/Lebanese border this morning firing Ketusha rockets, not caring where they fall, and killed an Arab family living in Israel. Is this who you want leading the Lebanese people and being an example for children? Killing their own kind?

They just want turmoil and don’t care who gets hurt.

  6. Hezbullah is firing just like Israel fires. Israel doesn’t care who they kill. According to the many international relief organizations, 1/3 of the lebanese victims are children. Israel has precition technologies, but yet they murder civilians.

Hezbullah is just like Israel when it comes to attacking each other. They don’t care. They both want turmoil.

Israel is using much more powerful weapons and there is even news that they are using chemical weapons. I can believe it, becuase if you look at the pictures of the dead bodies, especially the children, you will see that there bodies have been really deformed into un-recognizable faces.

I believe the situation between Israel and Palestine/Lebanon will never end, until the Mahdi or Messiah, which the Jews, Christians and Muslims believe in. This does not mean that we should just sit and wait. We must try to stop and bring peace to the conflict because what I believe may be wrong.

I swear, that region alone has been the center of turmoil, corruption, innocent killing, wars, etc for so long now. From the Crusades to this, it’s an ongoing conflict.

Everything that has happened is God’s will. God know’s best.

    Debbie:
People who call for a two state solution are people who don’t know what they want. They are trying to settle for absolutly anything, anywhere, anytime and at any condition. They say “let us forget about what is right and what is wrong and let us just get this story over with anyway possible”.

The land is ours from Syria to Egypt, not a single inch of it belongs to anyone but the Arabs.
    In a letter sent by the Caliph Abdul Hameed to Theodor Herzl (founder of the Zionist movement who at the time was trying to buy Palestine off the bankrupt Ottomans), he said;

“Advise Dr. Herzl not to take any further steps in his project. I can not give away a handful of the soil of this land for it is not my own, it is for all the Islamic Nation. The Islamic Nation that fought Jihad for the sake of this land and they have watered it with their blood. The Jews may keep their money and millions. If the Islamic Caliphate is one day destroyed then they will be able to take Palestine without a price! But while I am alive, I would rather push a sword into my body than see the land of Palestine cut and given away from the Islamic State. This is something that will not be, I will not start cutting our bodies while we are alive.”

The prophet (pbuh) also said that whoever lets go of a hand-span of Muslim land will get its like in hell. So those who are calling for a two state solution will inshallah be getting large chunks of hell.

  8. “The land is ours from Syria to Egypt, not a single inch of it belongs to anyone but the Arabs.”

Surely you should have said the Muslims? Unless you’re an Arab nationalist 😉 (which I know you’re not).

  9. BismillahirRahmanirRahim,

    As’Salaam wa Aleykum,

    To Abdul Rahman Hilmi:
Salaam Aleykum Sidi. What you said is absolutely correct. Many people don’t know or don’t care to know about the conversation of our Sultan Abdul-Hamid Han and the Zionists who came to forge a “deal” prior to the removal of the Caliphate(The only legitimate government in Islam whose ruler is the only one who can declare jihad in the form of battle – in this context it meaning a fight to preserve Islam).

2nd, to Debbie – Hello – just a few things: Hizbollah is NOT representing Islam in this fight – meaning it’s not fighting to preserve Islam. It is deplorable that their rockets killed arab children as you would say it is equally horrendous that 1/3 of the 390 and counting of the lebanese dead are children. The point is – Israel can not be let off the hook for a “they started it” arguement. This has turned in to a war for self-preservation for Hizbollah and the Lebanese – regardless whether Hizbollah’s actions were largely politically motivated (as you MUST know). Is it justfied? Well let me put it this way – When there are civlians dying in scores and hundreds, their lives and their way of life, homes, schools, towns and cities are pummelled into ash and rubble, then we must side with them. Right now, they are the oppressed. Our hearts are with them as are our prayers. Hizbollah is the only one who is fighting for them. Even if they are not, the civilians see it that way, and the rest of the world sees it that way.

    To MR. Salaam Aleykum,
    You wrote:
“This does not mean we should sit and wait” – What will you do? Instead of what “we” want, let’s see what our Prophet(ASWS) wants – He is saying, Pull yourselves away from those conflicts. Pull yourselves away from the cities, and strengthen yourself with your Lord during the Ahir-uz-Zaman(End Times). You will not be able to change anything at that time. So wait for Sahib-uz-Zaman to appear.” I’m with our Prophet(ASWS)

    Allah emanat ol,

    Was’Salaam.

  10. When Arabs/Muslims say, “The land is ours from Syria to Egypt, not a single inch of it belongs to anyone…”, the ultimate result of that is an entire group of people will be either killed or displaced (Israel). If the Israelis say that, then another group will be either killed or displaced. Is this what God would want? The destruction of a group of people? Wouldn’t a God of love prefer a peaceful solution?

No, they should be allowed to live peacefully, but under Muslim rule.

  12. Luqman, you say, “No, they should be allowed to live peacefully, but under Muslim rule.”

So it is true what some say about Islam, you want to force people of other faiths to believe as you do? I thought that was the ‘radical’ view of Islam?

Jews and Christians are not allowed to have their own faith, but must live under Muslim law? With that statement you have set back relations between the three religions centuries.

  13. bismillah
Debbie, there is no such thing as “cycle of violence”. There is a right that has been stolen. Give me one, just one right, the Jews have over Palestine. Just one is all what I ask. There is none and yet the Palestinians are refugees, oppressed and prosecuted by the Zionists. It is cause and effect. A people’s right has been stolen and it is their duty to retrieve it.

As for the solution, brother Luqman spoke the truth. The only solution is for Muslims to rule themselves by themselves with the rules and laws that they wish to live by. We don’t want democracy, we don’t need it nor do we have any respect for it. Forcing our beliefs on others? How exactly is that? We as Muslims want to live by Islam. Stopping us from doing that is you forcing your belief on us. The US going to Iraq (and let us assume for the sake of argument that it is indeed to spread democracy) is forcing Western beliefs on us. WE DON’T WANT IT. We don’t want to force you to believe in anything, if you want to implement your democracy, enjoy it all you want until your drunk with happiness. We have our own system, our own ideology and our own experience and history that does not involve any renaissance or reformation that brought about secularism. Democracy and secularism are the results of a Western experience, and the history of the west is a history of imperialism, colonialism and forcing their belief on the rest of the world. When I say “their belief”, I mean your true religion. Not Judism or Christianity, your Churchs are large and beautiful but always empty. Your true religion is the faith you always speak in her name. Christianity and Judism are dead religions, and that is expected as they were never intended to last in the first place. We don’t want to force anything on anyone, all what we want from the West is for them to leave us alone and let us take care of our own affairs our own way.

  14. BismillahirRahmanirRahim,

“Christianity and Judism are dead religions, and that is expected as they were never intended to last in the first place.”

This statement is destressing to see, and I’m sure to hear, as a Christian and as a Jew. You should rethink this. I think you may in fact be widening the gap between our relations, though your intentions may be to simply speak truthfully – and this is not the manner which we were taught by our Prophet(ASWS).

    To Debbie,

If there are Christians and Jews living under Muslim rule, they have every right to practise their faith without being persecuted or oppressed. In any civilization, when there are tyrants governing, and oppressing their people, they are swiftly removed by Allah. We were not created to be oppressors on one another as is said in the Quran.

Right now, Lebanon is being oppressed. Palestine is being oppressed. Their cities, residences, bridges, schools and citizens, majority of which are children, are being decimated, and the whole world is simply watching. It is easy to get caught up in an arguement, focusing on rebuttals and ethics of disagreement, but let’s not fool ourselves here. – Israel (*in the name of self-defense) is crushing, debilitating a whole nation, and cannot escape accountability. We stand with those who are oppressed. Always, Insh’Allah.

When did I say they must not have their own faith? I never talked about force-converting anyone – I mean they can live as Jews or Christians but under Muslim rule (or emigrate if they wish). After all, Muslims have been living in the area for hundreds of years and if it hadn’t been for the violence, racist immigration laws and oppression, Israel would still be a Muslim-majority country.

Anyway, perhaps Islam itself is “radical”. It is the only purely monotheistic religion – how much more radical can you get?

  16. Wow I thought these comments would have stopped a while ago. Just a small pointer outer, Israel invaded Gaza before the Lebanose Conflict, and more or less started the war themselves, before Palestinians captured their soldier, they actually KIDNAPPED two Palestinian CIVILIANS. Just for emphatic purposes.

Second, don’t think Muslim rule is sending us backwards, that’s only the mentality extremist moderates want us to take, in reality Muslim rule is quite unique. Unlike any other system I know of, the entire system of law, belief, social customs and economy can remain in tact for the society as long as they are paying Jizya (Non-Muslim Tax). And Jizya is more or less to make up for the fact that they dont pay Zakaat (Compulsory tax on Muslims) & Sadaqah (other forms of charity Muslims are expected to give). I can’t think of a system of governement which allows for the preservation of that society’s system of justice and social order. It’s as if the place never came under Muslim rule, as long they pay Jizya of course, but this is all in the past for now. Right now the west likes examples of “progress” & “modernity” like Eygpt (cough phony elections cough) & Jordan (cough Monarchy? & brutal destruction of opposition) & let’s not forget…Saudi Arabia (you’re joking me right?). But you know what, go ahead keep your modernity & progress, we’re sure it’ll yield the right results (cough Iraq cough). Hmm, sorry for the sarcasm.

  17. Abdul Rahman Hilmi says:”The only solution is for Muslims to rule themselves by themselves with the rules and laws that they wish to live by.”
do you have issue than if Christians and Jews or any other religo-ethnic groups wants to live by their own rules?
The method of goverment propsed by Yaser sounds lovely… for Muslims. You wish to be left alone and rule your way, than the same courtesy should be applied to the west. Allow countries to rule by the method of goverment they seem fit.

  18. You wish to be left alone and rule your way, than the same courtesy should be applied to the west. Allow countries to rule by the method of goverment they seem fit.

Do we instigate rebellions, coups or wars to overthrow Western goverments? I don’t think so, somehow.

  19. The idea that a bunch of non-semitic European terrorists can go and steal the lands of others based on nothing but a peculier interpretation of 3000 year old jewish fairy tales can never be the basis for the existance of a state in 2006. Apparently God is now a real estate agent.
BTW what the hell were the Israeli soldiers doing in Lebanese territory when they got captured? This was all pre-meditated and planned. Dont believe the zionist propaganda.

If Israel was a real Jewish state, there would be peace, because Israel would be within Palestine. Like New York is in the US.

Why can everyone live with eachother more or less peacefully in NYC but not Palestine? Jews have every right there that they do in Israel, but it doesn’t harm anyone. My guess is its because they bought their land from its former owners instead of killing them. You dont have a military service requirement there either.

Don’t take those articles seriously man, most of the people she links to are the most ignorant people alive.

My advice to you is give the correct information and leave it up to Allah.

    Allah knows best.

  23. Sincere promise, a promise made by Lebanon to help the Palestinian people due to the massive destruction to the city of Gaza by the Israeli monsters, Lebanon made his country for freedom of Palestinians and help them in these difficult circumstances, was the war on 13th of July 2006 between the Israelis and the Lebanese staged and led to the destruction of southern Lebanon and the launching of thousands of missiles, which shelled northern Israel for the first time since the emergence of the State of Israel.
And now we are asking you to send this message through out our products to your friends supporting and defending the case of Palestine and Lebanon.

  24. Its a bunch of lies !!!! even the protests!! there are perverted peoples and they have textbooks that cryout revenge even at the time of peace.. that dirty Talmud and to there gods they pray! They mixed and stirred up the lies about the WW 1 and W.W II.. but remeber the prophecy that Allah has remind us .

  25. Its a bunch of lies !!!! even the protests!! there are perverted peoples and nation ,they have textbooks that cryout revenge even at the time of peace.. and ! They mixed and stirred up the lies about the WW 1 and W.W II.. but remeber the prophecy that Allah has remind us that they will gather up then be slaughterd. Besides there textbooks and the Israeli flag itself is Satanic , from Kabbalah,Talmud and other more textbooks. And i truly belive in to re-educate the Americans and the Christian community about Judaism and to say “NO TO JUDAISM” . There always looking for converts because they dont have much jews !so there seeking and attacking the Christian peoples so they can do there perverted things on there family and kids.

  26. ok i want to play too

Look at this kid saying “bunch of lies !!!!” and talking about slaughtering

it’s the brown George Lincoln Rockwell, and sympathetic for Christians oddly enough. Good luck with that haha

  27. I am deeply saddened by the amount of ignorance displayed by my muslim brothers and sisters in these posts. Pejorative talk of non-muslims and whether one religion is true or not, this is the same type of ethnocentrism and jingoism that extremists have been pushing for centuries.

We can practice our religion in peace without encroaching upon other religious denominations right to believe.

Then we speak about the West’s invasion into our countries. Wasn’t it Arab conquests that brought us into Africa, Europe, and deep corners of Asia??? Let’s know our own history and ideology, then put it into context. Now we see a different picture. A picture that shows the violence and intolerance of Arab colonialism, much like Western colonialism in the past few centuries. Why is it that our faith has waged war on every other faith in the world? We are only creating and perpetuating conflict!!

    So what now?
Let us believe for the Right reasons, rather than the Wrong. Let us believe in the positive tenets, rather than the discriminatory ones. Let us work together across all faiths to restore peace and justice, and not violence and ignorance.

  28. Allah (swt) says (interpretation of the meaning):
“O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you – then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.” [al Maidah 51]
