      Salams and ramadaan mubarak!

Islam Channel in the UK announced that 1st Ramadaan was on Saturday, but as always there’s been some confusion from borough to borough…

    24. Faiza September 24th, 2006 at 5:44 am

In Denmark majority started Saturday 23rd. And now it’s being told that the moon couldn’t possibly have been seen on friday. I’m so confused myself…

Read this article: http://www.muwatta.dk (it’s in English as well as Danish) – it’s pretty convincing, so I’m too confused.

    25. Faiza September 24th, 2006 at 5:46 am

In the UK, we’re not so united. I think most mosques started tarawih on Friday and fasting on Saturday following Saudi Arabia but some started fasting on Sunday, following Morocco. And I heard at least one mosque started on Monday.
