   He’s a celebrity that will generate an audience. He will be discussing his path to Islam. I don’t think they need Shaykhs to do that.

   I’m pretty sure Rutgers MSA invites shaykhs to come give talks. I mean they have the AlMaghrib seminars there all the time, although they are salafi, they still are bringing shaykhs.

    I think the point was that disrespecting Shaykhs as I explain in my description of events, while entertaining exrappers is an interesting paradox. That is regardless of the good intentions behind this event. We say no to Wali’s but yes to ex-Rappers..

    it was the symbolism, and message I was pointing out, nothing more.

    Yeah I made that comment before I read your post. New Jersey MSAs are known for that. NY MSAs are much more open then the NJ ones.
