   Why did you say that guy is the man? True, he had many good points, but he also said that Israel is a democratic state and that Palestine is being favored over Israel which, unfortunately, is/are not true. But, back to the positives. Very true – most human rights crises go unnoticed because those who are part of the Security Council have no stake and could care less about the people being involved. The council head was wrong to tell him to not talk “in similar tones” again.

   Yeah that is true. The guy is pro-Israeli clearly, but it is VERY SURPRISING for him to support Chechnya and Darfur.

   Truman??? If Truman had a brain cell, FDR would have trusted him and no state of Israel would have been. Israel a democracy? I know I am not Rip Van Winkle….I believe Malcom X warned people to listen very carefully to duplicity. This man is taking out of both sides of his mouth!!! Strip searching little girls every day…by male soilders is that not a violation of human rights…attacking women with dogs?? Splitting Muslims apart? Did I watch the same tape???? Are we Muslims first? Thank you.

   It’s true that this guy talks about Human Rights in Chechnya and Darfur, but it just seems like lip service – Good P.R. for Israel, when in fact the exact opposite is true in Palestine.

   He should practice what he preaches.

   I think it’s ironic that he criticizes some human rights abuses and looks over others. It is the truth but this is merely a spring-board from which he can attack those who criticize Israel the same way Kitab al-Tawheed is a spring-board to attack traditional Islamic scholars.

   sure he supports israel. but he makes a good point about the failure of the UN commission on human rights, now the human rights council i believe. so many of the countries, if not all, are human rights violators, so they just point fingers at each other, play politics, and pass useless resolutions. that speech, and the way in which it was striken from the record, is an excellent example of the sorry state of the un hrc. of course he’s being hypocritical, but so are saudi, iran, russia, china, america, uhhh…this list could take a while.

   Assalaamualaikum,

   It is good that he spoke about the injustice occurring on other lands, but how dare he miss out the biggest injustice to have occurred in our time?

   I worry that Allah will hold us accountable on the Day of Judgement for not doing more to help the Palestinians. We just got to sort out the foreign policies of USA and UK and insha’allah we’ll take a step closer to establishing justice for Allah’s Cause.

   It’s good that there are organisations in USA (like CAIR) and in UK (MPACUK, MCB) who are working to get the voices of the innocent Palestinians heard – may Allah bless their efforts.

    The focus on israel today is because of the islamic injunction to take back lands they previously stole by conquest and since this land is Holy to christians and jews, those who rejected muhammed, it is all the more necessary to clamour about human rights abuses that are not afforded to jewsw or christians inthe quran itself.

    the issue is proclaimed as Palestinian in nature rather than islamic because it is the only way to fool those who have no understanding of the teachings of Islam. Do you clamour for the palestinian christians and Israeli citizens who are harassed , ridiculed tortured or killed by “freedom fighters” in hamas who see them as colaboraters with the Jews?

    palestinian “freedom” is a hoax diesigned to impose Islamic law on the jedeo-christian holy land. Islam needs to focus on its own holy land which continues to violate the rights of its own citizenry especially those deemed not to be true muslims.

    Yes, the muslims of today are a shame on the religion that is islam (and i mean all, all those scholars, everyone – they don’t care about the palestinians or about injustice to them), but Islam is beautiful, and the true Islam teaches muslims to stand against injustice.
