Lupe Fiasco recited Surah al-Fatiha for his deceased father (may Allah grant him jannah) at a Hip-Hop Concert in Atlanta, Georgia:
I love how the crowd was shouting “Allah hu Akbar”. Anyways, may Allah (swt) accept his good deeds and guide him on the straight path. Ameen. This is positive dawah, but I don’t know if it’s permissible dawah, and Allah knows best.
Apparently, Switzerland is scared of tall cylinder domed-top buildings. This is the funniest yet saddest thing I have ever read. The government of Switzerland is full of a bunch of paranoid freaks who are scared of minarets.
They claim the minaret is not necessary for worship, but is rather a symbol of Islamic law, and as such incompatible with Switzerland’s legal system.
What a load of rubbish! This is like saying pizza represents Italian extremism. It’s not necessary for eating, but rather a symbol of the Italian mafia and fascism of Benito Mussolini and such it is incompatible with the freedom and democracy of America. Okay, maybe it was a bad example, but you get the point.
“We don’t have anything against Muslims,” said Oskar Freysinger, member of parliament for the Swiss People’s Party.
“But we don’t want minarets. The minaret is a symbol of a political and aggressive Islam, it’s a symbol of Islamic law. The minute you have minarets in Europe it means Islam will have taken over.”

“American Morning” anchor John Roberts talks with Yasmin Hamidi (Network of Arab-American Professionals), Haroon Moghul (Graduate Student, Columbia University), and Zaheer Ali (Graduate Student, Columbia University) about the May 22, 2007 Pew Report on Muslims in America.
Shout out to Zaheer Ali, who sent me this video, who is also in the video. My favorite line is by Zaheer “…WMD, that wasn’t found…”. I met Zaheer and he is a good brother, mashaAllah. He’s also West Indian like me, so that’s a plus! 😀
My site is back online, alhamdulillah! Sorry about those two days. InshaAllah everything is back to normal.
So what happened? Apparently someone from Germany was accessing the MR Gallery and loading excessive images which slowed down the server of my host. It slowed down so much they had to disable my site. Due to this the MR Gallery will be disabled until I can figure out what to do.
Brother Soufyan from Morocco pointed these vidoes out to me. I have never heard an Amr Khaled lecture since he speaks in Arabic, but there is a lecture on YouTube with an English voice over translation. From the translation, I can see why TIME.com considered him one of the 100 most influential people who shape our world. Here is the video:
