MRevolution begins!

Bismillah

Alhamdulillah! It is only by the will of God that I can do all this.

I honestly didn’t spend much time on this design and a lot of the links are still a working progress. MR Tube and MR Gallery aren’t up yet. MR Radio will be upgraded and new songs will be added inshaAllah.

MR’s Book Club

The most exciting new feature that I have added is called “MR’s Book Club”. I will not lie, I got the idea from Oprah’s Book Club (through “half my deen”). It’s an amazing idea for me personally, because I don’t really read much but I love discussion forums. So basically MR’s Book Club is an online discussion forum specifically dedicated to books. The books will be chosen by you (the members of the community) and approved by myself.

The first two books are:

  • The Creed of Imam al-Tahawi by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf
  • Confessions of an Economic Hit Man by John Perkins

InshaAllah I hope a lot of people will join in on the discussions and eventually we can evolve to be better Muslims, and ultimately intelligent human beings. After all, reading is power!

MR’s Notes

This is the other new feature which I have added to the site. I have been blessed to attend many conferences, conventions, courses, intensives, and other Islamic events. I have over 100s of pages of notes (written or typed) that are in my room collecting dust. I decided that over the next month I will add them all to my site for everyone to benefit from inshaAllah. So please bear with me while I organize this.

So there you have it! MRevolution finally begins!

During the next coming months, you will see a lot more beneficial content added to the site either through the Book Club or the Notes page.

May Allah (swt) forgive me for anything wrong I have said. May Allah (swt) purify my intentions. May Allah (swt) only bring good from this project. May Allah (swt) accept your duas. May Allah (swt) grant us all jannah. Ameen.

JazakAllah khair and thank you for the continuous support. It is you, the reader, who motivates me to do more for the ummah through this site. Thank you again!

Actually, I had no intention of doing that, but its not the same. This one is slightly different, but alhamdulillah. Props to the MIST webmaster!

i stumbled upon this site a few months back while researching something on Islamic events, since then i am a regular visitor mostly because of links to speeches by the great Hamza Yusuf and scholars like him. I think what you are doing is great and i hope God continues to bless you in all your activities. If there is anything anyone of us can do to help please ask.
On another note, can you please put the book by Tariq Ramadan: “In the footsteps of the Prophet” in the MR book club next month or something, i am about done reading the book and it is a great one, i think a lot of people would benefit from discussing it.

      Salam brother,
      Love your blog, mashallah.
Since you seem to have a catchy thing going on with “MR” as in MR Radio, MR Gallery, MR Tube etc., why not consider “MR: Must Read” or “Must Read Books”, or some variation thereof for your book club? Has a nice ring to it, and is in keeping with the whole “MR” thing…
      Just a suggestion:-)

      Nice new look.

      Salaam ‘Alaikum

      Book club, nice idear.

Thanks for making the nasheed on the header silenceable when I move my mouse off of it. The last time, it wasn’t (for me) and it was a hassle when it was night time (full blast) or when I was already listening to something.

Confessions by john perkins is a nice eye opene…so is dajjal the anti-christ by Ahmed Thompson and life of omar the great by ‘Allama Shibli Nu’mani.

    25. Jainie July 30th, 2007 at 9:13 pm

I like Umm Ibrahim’s idea to. It does have a good ring to it: MR Must Read.
