Assalam-U-Alaikum

Mr Tom Tancredo Islam Means Peace. Muslims are not terroist or bombers, they are good to all humanity. These are the five pillars of islam.

1.1 Shahadah - is the basic creed or tenet of Islam (Submission)

1.2 Salah - the requirement to pray five times a day at fixed times

1.3 Zakah - consists of spending a fixed portion of one's wealth for the benefit of the poor or needy, including slaves, debtors and travellers. A muslim may also donate more as an act of voluntary charity (sadaqah), in order to achieve additional divine reward.

1.4 Sawm Three types of fasting (Sawm) are recognized by the Qur'an: Ritual fasting fasting as compensation or repentance, and ascetic fasting.

1.5 Hajj - The Hajj is a pilgrimage that occurs during the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah in the city of Makkah and derives from an ancient Arab practice. Every able-bodied Muslim is obliged to make the pilgrimage to Makkah at least once in their lifetime if they can afford it.[20] When the pilgrim is around ten kilometers from Makkah, he must dress in Ihram clothing, which consists of two white sheets.[21] The main rituals of the Hajj include walking seven times around the Kaaba, touching the Black Stone, traveling seven times between Mount Safa and Mount Marwah, and symbolically stoning the Devil in Mina.[21]

The pilgrim, or the haji, is honoured in their community. For some, this is an incentive to perform the Hajj. Islamic teachers say that the Hajj should be an expression of devotion to Allah, not a means to gain social standing. The believer should be self-aware and examine their intentions in performing the pilgrimage. This should lead to constant striving for self-improvement.
respect, selfcontrol, obedient , helping poor, praying, etc

please read below. Am making you understand what makka and madina means to us all muslims. Its important you undertsand. Makka is protected in all directions. May Allah give you guidence and understanding of islam ameen,

This early Makkan Surah refers to an event that happened in the year of the birth of our Holy Prophet, say about 570 A.C. Yemen was then under the rule of the Abyssinians (Christians), who had driven out the Jewish Himyarite rulers. Abrahah Ashram was the Abyssinian governor or viceroy. Intoxicated with power and fired by religious fanaticism, he led a big expedition against Makkah, intending to destroy the Ka'bah. He had an elephant or elephants in his train. But his sacrilegious intentions were defeated by a miracle. No defense was offered by the custodians of the Ka'bah as the army was too strong for them. But a shower of stones, thrown by flocks of birds, destroyed the invading army almost to a man. The stones produced sores and pustules on the skin, which spread like a pestilence.

This verse is written in the qu'ran and please mr Tom Tancredo understand that makka is protected by Allah(god) and its followers. Please study Islam and histroy. what it really means to all muslims. Mr Tom Tancredo may Allah guide you to the stright path ameen.

(sigh)
i believe this is precisely why men like mr tancredo make such vilifications

So that few foolish mmuslims become enraged over the slightest of remarks. Creating more havoc and ultimately diminishing any progress the greater muslim population has made in convincing the rest of the world that we are, in truth, people of peace

Sohaib,
You should stop looking up to abu ameerah so much. He's trying to paint a picture of me as if i'm some right wing redneck evangelical b/c he has to set up such a straw man in order to knock it down easily. His problem is that he went outside and got some sand stuck in his vagina. Ever since then, he's been irritable. He needs to take a shower and hopefully he wont be so irritable after.

Let me ask you a question Sohaib...have you read the Satanic Verses written by Rusdie? Or do you know what's contained in that book? First answer me that.

Btw, i'm a liberal and of course i hate coulter and the right wingers and I know more than i care to know about them. However, these people cannot be silenced b/c that's the concept of free speech once again. You can't silence those people by saying "you aren't allowed to say that" or "im gonna blow you up!" b/c they can say "well you can't give azaan". And you also have to look at what goes on around the world, how jews for example are portrayed in the egyptian media (very badly). We all have to look at whats going on and say "NO" to the negativities by writing to media outlets, setting up or joining boycotts of sponsors, not buying media (paper or satellite), supporting or campaigning against elected leaders, etc. What's easy to do is say "i'm gonna kill you if you say something bad about the prophet"...b/c the US can just bomb the crap out of anyone who says that. One must think sometimes and not just act.

abu ameerah, take it easy. You're going to have a heart attack. I'm telling you, you need to clean out that orifice of yours, get the sand out. Its making you irritable. There's no way i'm reading your post b/c its just way too long and idiotic. You accuse me of talking to much (moron) and watching fox news (where did that come from). Is that all you have? Youre tactic of blowing up or suppressing whoever doesn't agree with you WILL NOT WORK. If a toaster doesn't work, go ahead, suicide bomb it. But it won't work afterwards.

"I get the feeling I have alot more real world experience than you."

...and you know this how? By being a loud mouth on the internet I suppose. Then by all means please share with us, O wise sage! Actually, I get the feeling that when you're wrong you just try to do a lot of talking to divert attention from the facts. Perhaps its a tactic you learned by watching of Fox News.

"Someone whose around 1% in the polls worries you?"

No. It is the fact that a chunk, however small and insignificant you may think it is, of the body politic in this country actually agrees with this guy. Furthermore, all it takes is even the perception that a terror attack is imminent or that America is in some kind of danger -- and politicians like Tancredo can easily make political strides.

Finally, whatever rhetoric that Tancredo and his followers spew is not the problem. The problem is that this kind of rhetoric DOES have an impact on political discourse (even if it is crap on cable news) in this country.

Okay...so we don't ever forsee the United States bombing Mecca or Medina...however fringe voters and others who share similar beliefs may ask the next question. So...can America surround these places and simply threaten "terrorists" into putting down their arms? Whatever...

My point is that Tancredo-style rhetoric isn't particularly healthy or beneficial for this nation and ultimately can have dangerous consequences (however minimal) if left unchecked.

BTW...Ann Coulter made similar statement years ago...she is still a favorite guest on Fox News and is still a media darling for her controversial statements. Also, Michelle Malkin recently made the case for internment of Muslims (Yes internment -- not much different than what happend to the Japanese during WWII). Her books sold quite well and she is now an regularly appearing guest on Fox as well.

I realize that these two whack-jobs aren't legislators -- but Tancredo is. Even a political loser like Tancredo can have an impact. Think, for a moment, how far he pushed the issue of Border Security and Immigration. Tancredo was making noise on the issue YEARS before his fellow counterparts and look at where we are now. Bush went on television, after Tancredo and other Congressman made enough noise on the issue, and decided to commit more federal funds and man-power for border security in order to make nice with both sides of the argument. While Bush didn't do much of what Tancredo hoped would be done ... Bush still did something.

Finally, why is it acceptable for a legistlator like Tancredo to get away with such a statement. Imus mentioned "nappy" and "hos" and the guy gets tossed out on his can in seconds!

Let us imagine if Congressman Keith Ellison were to utter a similar statement. Let us say, hypothetically speaking of course, that it was involving Israel or the Pope for example. Conservatives, AIPAC, the GOP, whoever, would waste no time in dealing with Ellison and I think there would be a publicized apology and resignation demanded of the Congressman before lunchtime. Ellison's career would, in effect, be over and he would probably go down in history not as a Muslim elected to Congress -- but as a terrorist elected to Congress.

Feel free to disagree (I'm sure you will) and go on talking trash. However, you seem a bit excited so I'll simply recommend that you switch to decaf.

Ignorant huh? I get the feeling I have alot more real world experience than you. I also assume you’re one of the…how can I put this nicely? Wannabe intellectuals. Nothing wrong with it. At least you tried hard when you were in school.

–If you know Tancredo, and follow his politics, you’ll see that this is not just some kind of empty threat.—

Who gives a crap about tancredo? You follow this guy? Someone whose around 1% in the polls worries you? If you think mecca is in that much danger, why not set up a tent outside and stand guard with a pea shooter? Stop fearing so much. Jeezes, your parents shouldve let you out more.

I saw him allude to the same recently on the Iowa Debate... Strangely enough, NO other person on the panel stated that his idea was "Crazy", why? Anyone who dared to stand on the side of Islam would have been shipped off to Gitmo... :-(

If you listend carefully, all of the debaters stated similar ideas about democracy... That is, Democracy does not me free and fair elections... Only that the RULE OF LAW (OUR LAW) prevails. They also stated that they believed having elections in Egypt and Palistine were a bad idea because extremists might win. I guess they mean Democracy for US and the Iron Fist for you...:-(, but that was Saddam wasn't it???
