   Criticized, maybe, but not on the way to Gitmo. I’ve heard Muslims say much, much worse when it comes to Jews and unless they’re prominent public figures it usually doesn’t become too big a deal. Even when a western Muslim leader puts his foot in his mouth (Al Hilali comes to mind), they add incrementally to the public perception that Islam is a medieval death cult, but there’s no serious suggestion that they should be banged up for it.

   Maybe I exaggerated, but the media would go down much harder on a Muslim for saying something like that.

   salaam. people please don’t be hurt by ann coulter. to call her a christian extremist is wrong. she’s just an ultra right wing nutjob pitbull in a dress. before any one gets offended let me make this clear. i didn’t use pitbull as a substitute for the “obvious” word. this is what she’s been called by democrats and moderate republicans alike. her objective is to piss people off plain and simple. there’s nothing she won’t say. don’t let her get to you, this is what she wants. and muslims we just need to strenghten our resolve and stop calling foul at everything. when we do that we make muslims seem infantile. toughen up! al qur’an speaks of pepole like her, and you know their fate.

   I mostly agree. Honestly some days I just wonder if Coulter is a performance artist and her fans just keep missing the point. Anyone see “Bamboozled”, where the guy starts a minstrel show to make a point about Black Entertainment, only to see it become a hit? Maybe Coulter is trying to just be as crazy far right as she can, saying the most indefensible things possible, and secretly being appalled as the right makes her a best selling author and calls for more?

   great example dave. bamboozled was/is a great film. with ann though, i do believe she means what she says. i just think she says it in a way to purposely set you off, thus you’ll never forget who she is. but hey you could be right. she may have created a monster of her control. i doubt it, but it’s possible. salaam
