May Allah extend our lives to witness next year’s Eid, and by that time, may Allah give the nation of his beloved one the glory and sovereignty, under the flag of “There’s no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger”.
NEW YORK (AFP) – New York’s iconic Empire State Building is to be lit up green from Friday in honor of the Muslim holiday of Eid, the biggest festival in the Muslim calendar marking the end of Ramadan, officials said.
“This is the first time that the Empire State Building will be illuminated for Eid, and the lighting will become an annual event in the same tradition of the yearly lightings for Christmas and Hannukah,” according to a statement.
Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting month, is expected to be celebrated in New York from Friday, depending on when the new moon is sighted, and the city’s tallest skyscraper will remain green until Sunday.
Within the past few days the President of the Muslim American SocietyDr. Esam Omeish, a Northern Virginia-based surgeon and well-respected brother in American-Muslim community, has come under attack. He was forced to resign from a Virginia State Immigration Commission because of a video leaked by “terrorism-investigators” and then picked up by right-wing bloggers, newspapers and talk-radio.
Who is Dr. Esam Omeish? On his own blog, he writes:
Shaykh Faraz posted a link to a New York Times article talking about how pastors and priests in America are using Halo, a popular video game for X Box and X Box 360, to attract young people to come to church. For those who don’t know what Halo is: basically you have guns and you kill people (the enemy). You snipe people in the hed, leg, hand, butt, or wherever you can aim. You spray them with 100s of bullets until they die. You throw grenades at them or stick them with sticky grenades. You blow there bodies up into pieces with a rocket launcher. And my personal favorite you slice them with a sword. Yes this game is graphic and violent. It’s rated M for mature audience only.

If we were to have a Halo night at a masjid or MSA, the news headline would probably be along the lines of “Young Muslim men train for Jihad using violent video game at Mosque“.
I feel like having a Halo night at our MSA for Eid. Anyone down? Anyone have Halo 3 and X Box 360 they can bring?
Ramadan is almost over. We’re down to the last stretch. The last ten days. The last ten nights. It’s time to hustle! We hustlin’ for the biggest cash-in’s ever. A night worth more than the average life span. How do you get it? Pray every night. Recite qur’an every night. Make dua every night.
Tips on hustlin’ every night:
Make constant wudhu to keep yourself up.
Do not eat a lot of food.
Try not to hang out on campus or at people’s homes. Go to the masjid.
Sleep after dhuhr before the night you plan to go to the masjid.
Cry in your dua.
Call the adhan/iqamah for salah if you can. Lot’s of reward.
Claim your first row position for fajr. Lots of reward there too.
I probably won’t be able to do any of this until next week starting Monday night, inshaAllah. So for all those brothers who are locally near me and are down to hit up Selden Masjid or MDQ a few nights next week, give me a call.
This post is anti Muslim and calls for the complete banning Islam in the US (ala Dave Gaubatz), then the very next post you see this anti-black racist drivel. The crime they describe is heinous for sure, but they try to pin it on the fact that blacks are “on the left side of the bell curve” (READ: inherently less intelligent and inferior)
Part of their thesis is the blacks in jail accept Islam because they are “physically powerful, mentally deficient, and morally depraved”. In other words, they accept Islam because they are not intelligent. This is part of the thesis by white supremacist/anti-Muslim groups such as SANE (Society of Americans for National Existence). Do you see how this is not only a shot at blacks, but on Islam itself?
One of the things that need to be pointed out regularly to non-Muslims is that these people not only are LIARS but racists who mean no good to anyone other than themselves.
