I hate to tell you all this, but after reading all the comments on this post I can safely say that many if not most of them are perfect examples of why a large number of Americans hate Islam and loath Muslims.

I am not sure what is funnier this vote or not vote thing or the frito fatwa that was going on a few months ago. Everybody has a sheik we dont have that madhab obsession any more we have I listen to so and so sheik and defend him like he was my father. Please give me a break DIVIDE AND CONQUER the most basic strategy out there and you people are walking straight in to it. They dont even have to try.

Dear Omar Ali (whose two names attest also to the glory of Islam by those who truly followed the Way of the Prophet, peace be upon him).
Do you think any Muslim countries are actually following Shari’at 100%? The betrayals of God’s way in almost ALL so-called Muslim countries is LEGION, and horrific! Torture, corruption, oppression, the list of crimes goes on and on. To not vote for an honorable and eloquent candidate in our own country because of it not being Shari’at is truly not realistic. Perhaps if other Muslim countries could see a black American President with the names Blessing Hussein Obama, of a country at least a Democracy in name and much of its form, other countries might not only become more just but perhaps bring about a real, balanced Shari’at themselves that is also humane and realistic. It’s true: Hope is not just a word.

he may be the lesser evil because he doesn’t hate muslims. He knows something about Islam and how beautiful it really is. BUT at the end of the day he will have to work with those who dispise muslims and ISLAM. I think he would be better than the other two but i will not vote for him because the system they true understanding muslims want is SHARIA the rules of ALLAH…Non can offer more justice than ALLAH(swt) and we all know his system works and is perfect. We may never get to see 100% sharia in our time but i will not vote to use a lesser system that Allah said not to use. I hope he will bring the troops home so Muslims will not continue to be butchered and killed unjustly. I don’t think the other would give a hoot how many MORE innocent muslim they mame kill or torture. ALlah knows best who will win but i hope he give us the person who will aid muslims in any way shape or form and be MORE truthful and JUST this is all i hope for.

If Barack or the others were really smart he would accept ISLAM.

i dont believe that we will be responsible if we choose not to vote. we all know the story of ar-rum when the muslims supported the victory of the romans against the persians, however the muslims did not send troops to aid the romans against the persians and they did nothing whatsoever to aid the romans. now if persia did defeat the romans would that mean that the muslims were guilty for not aiding the romans? they could have given them some military intelligence or assistance. i beleive no action is better than wrong action.

also i think that the majority of american people do not like islam and they do not want to see islam established as a complete way of life. the american people believe in seperation of church and state and they do not want a leader who will be lax with those who promote islam as a complete way of life. they consider this fascist and authoritarian. also the democrat party is way more pro-israel than the republican, really they are two faces of the same coin. maybe mccain will be worse but maybe he wont, but what we do know is that neither will sincerely work in our best interests.

i suggest that we fear Allah and not use the fatawa of the ulema as an excuse to satisfy our nafs. let us weigh out the benefit and harm. obviously there is doubt regarding its permissability. so if it is permissable then you will lose nothing whether you vote or not, but if it isnt then you will be brought to account if you did vote. remember although some of the ulema have said it is permissable none have said that it is obligatory.
