Islamic Toolbar

UPDATE: The toolbar is no longer being supported and updated. It has been discontinued.

This is really cool and something new to the online Muslim ummah: an Islamic toolbar. It began just for the University of Waterloo MSA, but the brother who developed it contacted me and said he is expanding it for all Muslims around the world. It features:

  • RSS feed of News, Blogs, etc. all related to Islam and Muslims
  • A radio that features Nasheeds (MR Radio is featured on it)
  • Google-powered search bar
  • 10 Islamic TV channels

You can find out more info and download it here. Here is a screen shot: islamic-toolbar.JPG

  1. Hey Salams everyone,

I’m the author of this toolbar, I wanted to point out that you should click the ‘gadgets’ menu of the toolbar, when downloaded.theres some pretty cool stuff in there.

if enough people download this, revenue can be collected with google adsense, and it would all go towards a muslim sponsorship program made by the UofW MSA. Imagine, helping muslims by using a search engine!

Please try the toolbar, if you don’t like it, feel free to uninstall it. But im pretty sure that you guys’ll dig the features

feedback is welcome, even in the most bluntest of manners

  2. another thing, mujahideen ryder has an rss feed placed right at the convenience of the toolbar, if there are anyother muslim rss’s i should include, let me know

  3. @ moneys worthless,

šŸ™‚ im glad you appreciate my meticulousness

unfortunately theres no way for the user to add feeds, however if you request a certain rss feed ill can consider putting it up for you

  4. Pretty interesting idea, Masha’Allah. Suggestion for version 2.0: A built-in feature that rates the Haramness of the current website from 1 to 10 in a similar fashion to Google’s PageRank. Oh yeah. I just hope my site stays in the single digits…

  6. in not fronting :), i never knew about this toolbar you have, but quite honestly it lacks a bunch of features that are already on the WaterlooMSA’s, plus not every muslim is a salafi:).

That being said a person should not call theme self salafi, when in fact they are Muslim. Allah has ordered us in the qur’an to call ourselves nothing but believers. We shouldn’t divide and identify ourselves by the names of different sects, when we all pray 5 times a day (well we try) towards the same direction.

    just a thought

  7. Yeah, but does your toolbar search through your bookmarks and delete all links pointing to Bida? Thats what an Islamic toolbar should do.

    I’m Just playing btw. ha

Bismillah, maashallah – I love to see Muslims working toward presenting the true message of Islam.
We pray for all of you and ask Allah to protect us all, ameen.
Here are a couple of suggested RSS feeds –

Salam alaykum dear brothers and sisters,
    Yusuf Estes ( too)

Is this really Sh. Yusuf Estes???

If it is, ahlan wa sahlan Sh. Yusuf! MashaAllah I am honored to have such a great Muslim like yourself to visit such an unworthy Muslim blog like mine. MashaAllah! JazakAllah khair!

  9. Another great toolbar is the 786magic toolbar … in association with … a relative new site which has created a utility that even the old hats have found hard to match. It can be downloaded from: check it out guys … doesnt cost anything and if you dont like you can easily un-install it … it is updated daily with new features being added all the time.
