The ten days of dhul hijjah are upon us:
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” They said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out himself for jihad taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything.” Narrated by al-Bukhari.
Don’t forget about the Day of ‘Arafat:
It was reported from Abu Qutadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was asked about fasting on the Day of Arafah. He said, ‘It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.’ Narrated by Muslim.
For those who are participating in Hajj and will be at Arafat on this day, then you are not suppose to fast, becuase the Prophet (saas) did not fast while at Arafat. Then again, if you are reading my blog during Hajj then…well let’s hope your not on my site during hajj!
