It is haram, and it is prior to my reengagement with Islam, though I had them before my first engagement as well. I am working on closing them, it is possible, just takes some time. I’m an American who’s not Muslim, but I understand Holdbrooks’ feelings and I think a lot of other Americans do too, even if they don’t say it. Many of us feel that the Christian community here in the US has become something silly and ignorant, and we’re impressed by Muslims who seem serious, devout and educated.
