The End - 2000 to 2009

This is a talk on Biblical manuscript tampering by Bart Ehrman, Professor of Religious Studies of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1h40m):

“Know they not that Allah knoweth what they conceal and what they reveal? And there are among them illiterates, who know not the Book, but (see therein their own) desires, and they do nothing but conjecture. Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say:”This is from Allah,” to traffic with it for miserable price!- Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby.” (Surah al-Baqarah, 77-79)

If you are interrested in comparative religion, then watch/listen to Ahmad Deedats lectures/debates.

Bart Ehrman calls himself and atheist now, doesn’t he? Would he be giving atheist dawah, and be all anti-religion? o_O

There was a Muslim guy in there. He challenged the fact that Jesus peace be upon him wanted to fulfill the law of the Torah but Paul said not to follow it. He also said peace be upon him after he said Jesus. LOL

      Farooq,

What is so funny? Is that not true?

Dr. Ehrman is my professor at UNC, he is fantastic. He is more agnostic than atheist

His book was okay. At the end of his paperback book there is a Q&A session. He was asked about the authenticity of other religious texts and gave a general statement that all scriptures have been changed through time. And no, Bart Ehrman is not an atheist, he’s Agnostic.

It would be interesting to hear his commentary after taking a close look at the Quran, then concluding whether or not it has been altered.

I’ve heard arguments from well educated people who are trained in deciphering writing styles. They took a close look at the Old and New Testaments and concluded that several parts of the same chapter, claimed to have been recorded by a single Prophet (as) or person, was in fact written by several people and several distinct writing styles can be identified. Alterations stand out like sore thumbs!

Islam has elevated science to such a high level that I firmly believe one day science will not ‘falsify’ Islam, but only support it with clear proofs!

Of the same people who studied the Bible, those who could read Arabic studied the Quran and concluded that the writing style is fluent and consistent throughout, but instead of giving credit to Allah, they claim Muhammad (s) wrote it instead.
