      do you mean torture

    2. Osman May 3rd, 2009 at 11:06 pm

Where’s the US outrage over their own torture in Abu Ghraib and Guantanemo?

      Irony at its finest??

    3. muslimah May 4th, 2009 at 1:02 am

I’m in uni so cant watch the video right now..

      “”Contact the Dubai Police here:”

lol, you think they will listen? say one word against the corrupt monarch rulers and risk spending half your life behind the bars.

    4. Mostafa May 4th, 2009 at 3:31 am

      May Allah curse these Munafiqoon!

    5. Omar May 4th, 2009 at 4:55 am

This video reeks of hypocrisy! I just love the part where it suggests the U.S. government must intervene. Pure rubbish. A spoiled royal prince torturing his clients is disgusting, but it’s not Abu Ghraib. And to think that +40% of American Christians support the latter.

    6. AbdelRahman May 4th, 2009 at 7:12 am

Omar, while I agree with you that it’s no Abu Ghraib (or Guantanamo for that matter), the primary difference is that this Abu Dhabi torture is ‘Muslim on Muslim’ crime. Non-Muslims fighting and beating Muslims is expected in this world, but when Muslims do such terrible things to other women, then there are major issues looming.

Some very close family friends live in Dubai and they told me similar stories before. I wasn’t quite sure that I believed them until I saw this video a couple of weeks ago. If this is what we’re seeing on YouTube, imagine what hasn’t been filmed – ya Allah please help the oppressed and implement your swift justice on all oppressors, from any background which they may come!

    7. Umm Layth May 4th, 2009 at 10:04 am

How anyone can do this to another human being is just beyond me. Allah is Just.

    8. Habayeb May 4th, 2009 at 10:55 am

You mean “Abu Dhabi” is the new sin city. I pray Allah punishes the oppressors “all around the world”. I’d like to see Bush punished for his war crimes too.

    9. muslimah May 4th, 2009 at 1:00 pm

subhanAllah..:( may Allah punish these oppressors! Ameen.
this actually reminds me of a hadith of ashratul sa’a. i dont remember it exactly, but it was something about the arabs..truly, the Arabs have become the ‘ajabs’. Islam is spreading amongst the non-Arabic speakers..alhamdulillah.
but having said that, i hope this video doesnt end in generalization of the UAE. the monarch govts, or rather all of *muslim* leaders lack taqwa-which again is another sign of the Last Day. subhanAllah, it’s the end of times..

    10. Mars May 4th, 2009 at 2:58 pm

what on earth?!! how could they possibly do that. do they not fear Allah (swt). i mean these are muslims? they’re no different then the americans abusing iraqis and afghans. Seriously what has this world come to. may Allah (swt) punish these oppressors!! Ameen.

    11. * Snr May 4th, 2009 at 4:23 pm

Torture here *USA*or Dubai is evil!

      *no info

    12. Sista May 4th, 2009 at 7:48 pm

Astughfirullallah! May they be punished greatly.

    13. Buzzchow May 4th, 2009 at 10:43 pm

And this only shows a fraction of the abuse captured. When the full video is released the UAE’s ruling class will be under more scrutiny.

    14. Omar May 5th, 2009 at 7:06 am

AbdelRahman. As-salaamu ‘alaykum. I think I’m a bit senstive to the hyprocrisy than yourself because I grew up in Abu Dhabi and am quite fond of the place. I mean, you assumed my criticism was because I hold on to some kind of utopian understanding of the Muslim world vis-a-vis the West. Far from it. Abu Dhabi was one time my home, and it’s disgusting how this newspiece wants to reduce the entire UAE to the fetishes of this spoiled prince. What this guy did is disgusting. But the way this newspiece frames it just reeks with hyprocrisy. Like a frog calling someone ugly. Abu Ghraib is the definition of state sanctioned torture. If it’s state sanctioned torture this video is apalled at, they need to start with Abu Ghraib first. And, second, all the despots the U.S. gov supports.

    15. Omar May 5th, 2009 at 7:10 am

      (Changed the last sentence.)

      shame on them

    17. Ali J May 5th, 2009 at 10:44 pm

Why did the man just show them now? am sure he had them before?
But as soon as they had a arguement he brings them out?

Subhnallah, it’s sad to see the video and only Allah swt knows if its real or not.
If it is May Allah swt guide and forgive him ameen.

How quick the ummah of Muhammed saws has gone to destruction.

This video is nothing compared to the videos of our brothers who are being tortured daily inside prison.
May Allah swt relase them. ameen.

    18. ahmed May 6th, 2009 at 7:56 am

The most important thing is WHO is doing the crime. This asshole being a brother of the president doing such things!!. I hope allah will give him a miserable death.

    19. Fouad London May 6th, 2009 at 9:39 pm

Omar i agree with you 100% this video reeks with hypocrisy

    20. Anthromanthro May 8th, 2009 at 4:42 pm

This guy is a prince in the Abu Dhabi Emirate. Nothing to do with Dubai. Abu Dhabi and Dubai are two different emirates with their own set of rulers. MR – you should be asking people to email the Ministry of Interior of Abu Dhabi not the Dubai Police?!?! Get your facts right lest you look like another stupid and ignorant American.

    21. MR May 8th, 2009 at 4:55 pm

@Anthromanthro – I tried looking for Abu Dhabi Police info but there isn’t. I just found Dubai’s so I assumed Dubai would FWD it to Abu Dhabi.

    22. JD May 10th, 2009 at 9:36 am

They are all freaking corrupt!!! He just screwed up by video taping it and getting caught!!! Just imagine the unpublished evil instances of everyday living by all these couurpt bastards over the peasants! What a joke!

    23. Edmund May 11th, 2009 at 5:22 am

Oh come on, guys – less of the hypocrisy. Rarely do we hear criticsm from Islamic countries of Muslim-on-Muslim violence. Look at Iraq: For some reason the sight of an invading US or UK soldier motivated thousands of supposedly devout Muslims, both Shiite and Sunni, to arm themselves with electric power drills and drill holes in their fellow Iraqis, women and children, with a savagery which defies belief. If someone to invade my country, then I would defend myself against them begin torturing to death my fellow compatriots. But then I’m not a Muslim. Ofr the 170,000 people killed in Iraq the vast majority were perpertrated by Muslims themselves. Hence the real enemy facing Muslims are….other Muslims. But, of course, this reality is ignored due to the terrible things it says about these countries and its people. Why is no one demonstrating against the Taliban for pouring acid into the eyes of young girls going to school? Why do you tolerate such bestial inhumanity?

    24. Eye4anEye May 12th, 2009 at 1:57 am

It’s funny to read some of our brothers comments about justice….brother may “Allah” intervene and we should simply leave it at !! Quite a fascinating approach to address these malefic crimes and the actors. I say to divine intervention will only take place when we grow some balls to respond and revolt against these ragheads… every able body should take to the streets, and walk right up to the king of U.A.E, and posit an ultimatum. They either behave like Muslims and apologize or face the Sword !

    25. Ali Ahmed May 12th, 2009 at 11:08 am

As a fellow “muslim”, a word used to represent a set of widely ranging general beliefs and historical views, interpreted either slightly or vastly differently by every other so called “muslim” based on their knowledge, experience, temperament and so forth – and realized to be more similar than different from any of the other wide ranging views on god ( if one truly studies and is not merely a religious parrot) represented by other words such as “christian”, “hindu”, or “buddhist” – i am saddened by any acts by any person of any faith, muslim or other, that are not born of the “bottomless mercy of Allah”.

Hatred, violence, greed, racism, and stupidity must be given no quarter within ourselves. It is these poisons within you and I, my brothers AND sisters, that defile the sacred halls and institutions of Islam.

    26. abdo May 13th, 2009 at 7:56 pm

      am one of his victoms
I saw this vedio alive in side me.oh awful
also he hit me with other sudanese worker
      in this place
      shaik was very bad

      Power Corrupts.

      Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely.

This is disgusting. This kind of behavior is not uncommon of spoilt rich brats who think they have absolute power and can get away with anything in their twisted whims and fancies.

I sincerely hope and pray that the ruler of Abu Dhabi takes a strong action and punishes his sick and degenerate brother to set an example in the eyes of the world. That alone will be a befitting answer to the unjust defaming of UAE that is making rounds in the press and the internet.

Also every single person involved in this crime must be punished, the sheikh doing this, the policeman and assistants helping him carry out the heinous crime, the guy who is shooting the video, the cameraman’s brother who used to store such videos for years and assist this sheikh in his nefarious activities. Everyone must be brought to justice.

More importantly, I am concerned about the grave danger to the victim because of the high level of this case. I hope he is not already silenced. I pray for his safety and hope he is OK and back within the care and love of his family.

If humans don’t intervene, God will ultimately administer justice. Its just a matter of time. Wait and Watch.

But to use this video to defame all arabs and the UAE is ridiculous. Friends and relatives who have lived in Dubai for decades vouch for the kindness and hospitality of the country.

The behind the scenes evils like this happen in every society, every culture and every country around the globe. You can not judge a whole country by an incident like this.

May God show us the right way and fill our hearts with compassion love and peace towards all living things in this universe.

      Ahmad M.S.

“But to use this video to defame all arabs and the UAE is ridiculous. Friends and relatives who have lived in Dubai for decades vouch for the kindness and hospitality of the country”…ahahahah

Your friends and relatives must be “aaraabs”. No expatriate lives with dignity or any identity in these lands. How many “araabs” can look anyone straight in the eye and say “yes” I did have a “rafiq” visit me at my palace once, we gave him and his family such a humble reception. yea…piss on your kindness, the reality stands to be far more grim and real than ridiculous !.

A nation of people that have a history of creating “nazi” like environment for “rafiqs” and their family is well known. Calling the expats “gawwad”, “abd”, “rafiq”, “heymaar”…list goes on..

    29. ali May 15th, 2009 at 9:37 am

these thinks happening all our the world big fish eat small fish but also that is true and big fish die before small fish….
I am from UAE and I feel so shame and that greatest man Zayed son do that ….Zayed was and will be one of few greatest human ever born on this earth…..
If you go all our the world that happening but there is no video….

    30. Mezaan May 15th, 2009 at 1:37 pm

      Ali,

It’s ridiculous how you frame your response to this video. These things happen all over the world, so we should all just accept it and move on. Just because the animal kingdom behaves a certain way doesn’t mean you behave like an animal or a fish in your case. Please have a better standard for once. We have a fukin mind, and a sense of moral responsibility. WE USE IT.

Zayed was a no better than the next patriarchal bourgeois barbaric dictator. The Greatest man failed at raising his family with good and decent morals. He violated all principles of proper nation-building. Look at Dubai, a hub for prostitutes, human rights violations, adultery, and binge drinking. The fruits of his labor were founded on selfish ideologies and self-gratification…that’s all they’ve lived for and died for…and inshallah they are going to answer for what they left behind…power to dumb people, abuse of expats, institutionalized prostitution, racism, dictatorship, and more slavery.

I just got a book titeled Dubai – The Maktoum Story by John M. Smith. Just try to google it and you find more about the Al Maktoums of Dubai & the Al Nahyans of Abu Dhabi.

But I´m glad that all is coming out now how they are really doing and thinking.

And I´m very much sure that also other sheikhs in the UAE will get punishment soon. Just some days back the government of Abu Dhabi sacked to (Nahyan) ministers. Wonder why? The news agent (WAM) did not say anything but was saying that two where removed.

As a long term resident in the U.A.E I am absolutely appalled by this mans (if we can even call him that) actions.

Comments here have been completely uneducated and bordering on insane.. for someone to write… “look at the Abu Ghraib case” clearly highlights ones stupidity.. I dont think torture of one against another should be used as some ridiculous scorecard.. U.A.E against U.S!

In my experience, I have found the Emirati people to be very kind, open minded, considerate and hospitable people. I have been resident in Dubai for 4 years and have found the local Emirati population absolutely delightful people.

The Sheikh who perputrated this most disgusting small minded (and clearly he is small time) act on a fellow human being.. regardless of race or religion, is a complete pig. Here is a member of a Royal family which should be an absolute beacon of class and civility.Which clearly this animal is not!

The U.A.E has made fabulous efforts of the last few years to improve Human Rights and the quality of life for all of its residents. What is absolutely abhorrent is the complete lack of media coverage this has generated in the U.A.E and the general response. I understand he is a member of the Royal family but clearly he is sick and for them to try and protect him goes against absolutely every thing they are trying to promote.. this is the real shame..

The Al Nahyans are very decent, civilised, caring people as are the Maktoums of Dubai, and I know that they would be absolutely disgusted by Issa’s torture, Yet they are protecting this absolute animal at their and the country’s expense, they should be letting him suffer the full extent of the law like everyone else and be a beacon of hope and transparency in the Middle East.

Wealth, power, and sadism. A truly frightening combination. Sadists don’t torture other human beings for political or ideological reasons. They do so because the derive PLEASURE from it. If the victims belong to the disadvantaged, it’s simply because they present a low-profile target that can’t fight back. There are folks like this of every race and nationality, and it would be a mistake to typify a region by the acts of one such sadist.
