The Qur’an does not contradict itself:

“Whoever does not believe in Allah AND HIS MESSENGER [Muhammad], then they are disbelievers (kaafireen) for whom Allah has prepared Hell.” (Al-Fath, 13)

The verse you quoted (2: 62) refers to the GENUINE FOLLOWERS of the Prophets of their time. The Prophet of this time is Muhammad Al-Ameen. The Jews and Christians and Sabeans REJECT Prophet Muhammad–hence, they are kuffaar (in addition to their shirk and other forms of disbelief). This is the standard belief of the Muslims.

Must, my advice to you is that you learn about Islam and STOP SPEAKING WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE. You are destroying yourself because of your ignorance/kufr, so please learn, don’t speak upon that which you know not, and repent of your disbelief.

Also those who say Christians and Jews are Kafirs, then why Allah says the following in the Holy Quran?

Verily those who believe, those who follow the Jewish (Scriptures), the Christians and the Sabians any who believe In Allah and the last day, and work righteousness shall have their reward with their Lord (They will not be overcome by fear nor grief.)” [Qur'an 2:62]

I have decided, I will not participate in debate with any Muslim who has different beliefs than me. I am not saying they are sinners. Having more than one wife is not a requisite for Islam, but no Muslim denies its permissibility. In the West, a person is put in jail for polygyny. So much for so-called “freedom of Religion.” That’s in addition to numerous other matters of the Deen, such as, not being able to call the adhaan over speakers, or not being allowed to order the good and forbid the evil (in many cases) because of the ensuing harm that would result, and on and on. Yes, the States, in some matters, makes it easier for Muslims than even in some Islamic countries. Nonetheless, Muslims do not have the “freedom to practice their religion”–and that should not be surprising, afterall, we do not live in a “free” society.

Regarding Kemal, he showed OPEN HATRED for Islam and he deemed the halal “haram” and vise versa. That’s belying the Religion. And belying the Religion is kufr, and kufr is a greater sin than murder. The Muslim murderer may be forgiven by Allah for his sins. The one who dies as kaafir is condemned to Hell forever. You are correct in noting that simply committing a sin is not kufr. But you left out a part: if a person deems a sin “halaal” while knowing that it is forbidden, then he blasphemes–even if he did not do the sinful act.

Must, see this is the problem why people need to learn the Deen: so they don’t say statements of kufr out of their ignorance. The Christians and Jews ARE KAAFIRS! No two Muslims disagree upon that. Imam Al-Juwayniyy said:

“Whoever elects for himself a religion other than Islam, then he is a kaafir, and who doubts that such a person is a kaafir, then he himself is a kaafir. And if a person claims he does not want to take a position one way or the other [regarding the person's kufr], then, he is also a kaafir.”

I’ll make it easier:

“Whoever elects for himself a religion other than Islam, IT WILL NEVER BE ACCEPTED FROM HIM and he will be among the losers in the Hereafter.” (3: 85)

The Christians and Jews are condemned to Hell–FOREVER! The Qur’an says:

The Jews don’t believe in Allah. The Jews worship an imaginary anthropomorphic entity that they claim gets tired and is weak and ignorant. That’s not Allah. That’s a (imaginary) creation. The Christians don’t believe in Allah–they worship Jesus and an imaginary trinity. Furthermore, neither group of them even pretends to believe in Prophet Muhammad. The Prophet said:

“Any Jew or Christian who hears about me and my Message, but does not believe, then he is a denizen of Hell.” (Muslim)

Must, you are OBVIOUSLY confused about some of the elementary matters of Doctrine. Every non-Muslim is a kaafir. Now if he or she is in a state of takleef (legal accountability), that’s another story. Obviously, when i say the kaafirs are condemned to Hell, i am talking about those who are legally responsible. Some other corrections: the Prophet did not allow Christians to pray in his Mosque. The story is a fabrication.

Another point: simply b/c a Muslim MALE can marry a Christian or Jewess, it does not logically follow that such people are “Believers.” A Believer–by the definition of the Qur’an includes a person who:

—Believes in Allah, Prophet Muhammad, the Holy Qur’an, and the Judgment Day. (2: 285) Again, the Jews an Christians don’t even pretend to believe in Prophet Muhammad or the Qur’an, and they have ill beliefs about Allah. They are NOT Believers. Furthermore the Qur’an is EXPLICIT in referring to these people as kaafir:

“Certainly, they blaspheme, who say Jesus, the son of Mary is Allah.”

“Certainly, they blaspheme who say Allah is the third of three.”

“Certainly those who disbelieve (kafaroo) from the People of the Book [Christians and Jews] and the pagans are in the Hell forever. They are the worst of the creations.”

Regarding the prostitute, she was an ISRAELITE, that is, from the Tribes of Israel. She lived at a time BEFORE Prophet Muhammad; she did not have a bad belief about Allah; she did not reject any of Allah’s Prophets. We know that Allah MAY forgive any sin which is less than shirk (or other forms of disbelief). However, we know that the one who dies as a disbeliever goes to Hell forever.

I implore you to learn about Islam and not to speak without knowledge.

So you believe “every ruler today is committing kufr”. In other words according to you all rulers of Islamic countries are Kafirs. I guess that is the reason why you prefer to live here in America away from Kafir ruled countries. Have you thought of leaving this planet where kafirs are ruling everywhere, according to you, even in Mecca and Medina.

No one knows except Allah/God who is Kafir……When a Kafir Quraish said Shahadah probably to save his life when fighting with Ali, Ali who was sitting on his chest, killed him with his sword……when the Holy Prophet heard that Ali killed a man after he said Shahadah (acceptance of Islam) he asked Ali, “Why did you kill the man after he accepted Islam……..Ali said “he said the Shahdah to save his life……The holy prophet asked Ali……..did you go into his heart if he said by fear or true belief……Lesson is…….only God/Allah knows who is a Kafir.

The lesson here is once a person says Shahadah, he is no longer a Kafir and no one has a right to call that person Kafir.

Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall the translator of the Holy Quran into English says “Our Holy Prophet (pbuh) himself said that the term Kafir was not to be applied to anyone who said “Salam” (peace) to the Muslims.
