Most of the so called “Habesha” slaves from Ethiopia were actually not from the ruling class of ethnic Habesha of the Axum kingdom but from the wild Nilotic tribes that would be enslaved. The name Habesha stuck on them for the sole purpose that they originated from the land of the Habesha or ardul Habesha.

if u turn it around, would we be equally comfortable in learning lets say, a action movie was being made -religious in orientation, endorsed by I dunno, billy graham or pat robertson? Moreover Al Jahiz in his book “Risalat mufakharat al-sudan ‘ala al-bidan (Superiority Of The Blacks To The Whites)” written in 9th century (3rd century AH) wrote that Zaid ibn Harith was black as well as Abdul Muttalib and all his sons, including the Prophet’s father Abdullah. Those claims and that book til this day has not be refuted.
