Border Guard officers of Ethiopian descent report rising number of racially motivated verbal attacks from Hebron_youths; Druze officers also suffer racist remarks

Not only do they serve long and tiring hours in the reserve forces, and not only are they forced to deal with violent clashes with settlers, but now, Border Guard officers of Ethiopian descent are also faced with rising racism.

“Niggers don’t expel Jews! This isn’t what we brought you to Israel_for!” are just some of the degrading slurs Border Guard officers reported hearing from masked settlers.

During the violent clashes between Israeli forces and settlers in Hebron_on Tuesday “a bunch of veiled people started yelling at us: Who are you to expel us from our home? An Ethiopian does not expel a Jew! A nigger does not expel a Jew!” one Border Guard officer of Ethiopian descent recounted.

“I just didn’t know what to do with myself,” he said.

We all know jews are racists.

    2. Second Man December 28th, 2009 at 5:47 pm

“Who are you to expel us from our home?”

      Look at the hypocrisy…

    3. yep December 28th, 2009 at 6:46 pm

      @MJ:
yeah, that sounds right, Noam Chomsky, Amy Goodman, Naomi Klein, Norman Finkelstein, and more, perhaps the most vociferous voices in the West against Palestinian occupation and general Western Racism, they must be racist, too, according to your remark. And mind you, they’re all Jewish.

I’m a Muslim and you’re remark is an embarrassment to my faith that asks me to protect people of all faiths but to also stand up and be just against oppressors, whether they’re Muslim or non-Muslim. This is a faith of moderate behavior and thought, of the Middle Way, not of extreme statements like yours.

We don’t like it when the non-Muslims call all Muslims terrorists over the acts of Osama and family, so let’s do a favor back and not label all Jews!

MJ, I hope that stands for Merely Joking, inshallah.

    4. Atif C. December 28th, 2009 at 11:21 pm

Very true yep, it’s outrageously ignorant to categorize any group of people with any single label (especially in regards to our Jewish cousins since not only is this a community which we are obligated to respect as ′Ahl al-Kitāb, but many of whom are some of the most outspoken and passionate activists in the anti-occupation and pro-peace movement)…but at the same time, there is no denying that large segments of the reactionary Zionist movement (and certainly most if not all members of the settler movement) are essentially Jewish-supremacists and believe that as the “Chosen people” they are divinely entitled to all of Palestine…a failure to recognize this reality would be an egregious insult to the collective experiences of millions of our Palestinian brothers and sisters around the world.

Instead, any and all such hateful or otherwise deceitful stereotypes should be addressed and confronted by moderate voices on BOTH sides. After all there can be no lasting peace without a basic framework of cross-societal trust.

    5. al-suyuufi December 29th, 2009 at 12:16 am

MJ never said all jews are racist…put his statement in the clear context he was putting it in himself, and focus on the bigger picture will you?

Even the Quran affirms that Jews have a racist mentality in general, as you’d read in Surah Jum’ah.

    6. Abu Ibrahim December 29th, 2009 at 1:48 am

MJ never said he/she was Muslim.

      MJ could stand for:

      Michael Jackson
      Michael Jordan
      Mick Jagger
      Mexican Jew
      Mary Jane (Spidey’s wife)
      Mary Jane (drug)
Mary Jane (old school funk song about the drug)
Mary Jane (old school rap song that sampled the old school funk song about the drug)

But it is kinda funny that a lot of..ahem…ahlul kitab…are in high places of finance including government and within the Goldman Sachs empire.

      I’m just sayin’ is all.

    7. yep December 29th, 2009 at 3:47 am

Yep, the Jews, especially in the USA, are very hardworking people. Sure, they’ve fallen off of their monotheistic tradition but they’re working hard and doing well in the dunya, overall, be it within the sciences or political sciences, and we need to start working hard, too, as Muslims, just like them, except for a different reason, in a much more different way, and for something much greater. And for the sake of God, when are we going to start focusing on the ills of the Muslim community and not the Other community? Has that not traditionally been our solution to such problems of racism and oppression?

      @ al-suyuufi:
I’m not a Wahhabi, so I prefer not to read the Koran blindly and to take it OUT of context. The Koran isn’t for the auto-didact, so I’ll pass on your comment and instead take into account what the scholars have made of its various verses and definitely not mini-khutbahs from possible Youtube scholars like yourself. I’m beginning to think you’re a Jewish troublemaker at this point but that might just be my nafs, so I won’t bother addressing you hereafter. Let’s be clear…you don’t have the authority nor the scholarly background to be telling us what the Koran has and has not made clear about the Jews, especially those amongst us today in the West.

      @Abu Ebby:
Yes, there are many (yep, let’s quantify) Jews in “high” places all over the world, especially in the US and Palestine, and yes, they’re abusing their authority, but what about the Muslim dictators causing immense trouble all over the Muslim community, let alone as the board members at most of our mosques or as oppressive husbands at home and beard-heavy righteous saints in the mosque and on the street? How about the Pornography Addiction problem destroying our marriages, our families, and our children and the respective increase in general viewing amongst Muslim countries? What about the new Muslim Diet! What about Muslims killing each other? What about the Muslim Charity problem? Do you see where I’m going? I’m worried about OUR community and less and less (though still some…) about the Others…They’re just there to remind us what to return to: The Koran & Sunnah, as our dearest friend as-suyuufi has referenced.

      @Atif C:
I welcome and accept your respectful response. Thank you!
      Peace be with you, brother.

    8. yep December 29th, 2009 at 4:57 am

      @MR
I swear I just saw an advertisement in the top right of the website that showed an “Israeli” Credit Card Company, with the star of David included and everything. I’m not lying. Do you know about this? Do you control the advertisements here? I’m shocked and I don’t want to rush to judging you….

    9. ZAI December 29th, 2009 at 12:18 pm

No doubt Zionism has brought out the worst in many Jewish people.

That being said, I agree with Atif and Yep’s eloquent statements that Jews cannot be generalized as being racist. There is good and bad in every group, and naturally Jews are no exception…

That being said, Muslims have their own problems in this regards as well. A large proportion of our Muslims are some of the MOST racist folks on Earth circa this millenium. All we ever hear is “Islam did this” and “Islam says that”…which is true, but many MUSLIMS don’t DO this or that. Many of us are knee deep in racism, bigotry, tribalism, etc.

I’ve never seen people as racist as some Muslims when it comes to things like intermarriage(between Muslims) or even immigration. What Muslim country on this planet even lets a non-majority native immigrate in this day and age offering them citizenship? Not even ONE.

This Ethiopian is gettin’ discriminated against in Israel? Yeah…but he would in Saudi as well. The racism there is so open and prevalant black people are openly called ‘abeed, as if that’s the word for Black or African.

There’s good and bad everywhere. Let’s condemn this action insomuch as it exists, but get off our highhorse. The Muslims are in no moral position to generalize about others in this and many other areas…we have plenty of the “bad” amongst us.

    10. al-suyuufi December 29th, 2009 at 1:16 pm

LOL you think I’m jewish? Fear Allah, and free your head from conspiracy theories.

    11. al-suyuufi December 29th, 2009 at 1:32 pm

Hahaha and I bet you didn’t even read the Ayah, but you must have automatically known what it does or doesn’t mean.

[Juma`h 62:6] Say, “O Jews! If you assume that you are Allah’s friends, others are not, then wish for death if you are truthful!”

    12. Chris December 30th, 2009 at 6:13 am

You know, just a fact i wish to share, the star of “David” as you call it was not a symbol for jews i think,,,,,,,,,,

    13. Chris December 30th, 2009 at 6:14 am

Also, about the ads, there are several “non Muslim” ads,,,,,

    14. burhan December 30th, 2009 at 12:17 pm

Yeah, he subscribes to an ad service that serves up click-ads based on keywords. In this case, Israel. It’s oddly ironic that currently I’m looking at an ad for “All4Israel” (with a picture of a credit card with a Star of David printed on it) on one side and an ad for Muslim Family Day at Six Flags on the other side.

I usually have Ad BlockPlus on but turn it off some times to see what kind of ads a person is running. This site is bloated enough even when they are disabled. I have a fast PC and internet connection and this site takes awhile to load. It’s not coded properly, and there’s far too much cruft in the margins for it to be pleasant to look at. The majority of the content is outrage bait (like this post). All in all, it’s not a great website by any reasonable standard.

    15. burhan December 30th, 2009 at 12:36 pm

Seriously dude, your ad provider is serving up a link to this site:
      [edited out]

Now, I can appreciate the irony of a Muslim getting some ad click money for that (and I just made you $.015 or something), but you should contact your provider and have it de-listed. Seriously think about what you are doing here and why, and what benefit there is in it.

    16. Salam December 30th, 2009 at 6:23 pm

I saw the same advertisement. Last time I’ll ever visit this site.

    17. burhan December 30th, 2009 at 6:44 pm

To be fair, it’s not Amir’s fault that Google Ads are serving up the pro-Israel money grubbing scheme–it’s purely automated and matched by keyword searches done by Google’s servers. But the burden does fall on him to immediately contact Google and have that domain blacklisted from his account so it doesn’t show up again. I would again repeat my charge to Amir to seriously consider why he has this site still going. How much outrage do we need on the internet? Perhaps leave this kind of thing to doofuses like Umar Lee and leave the internet be.

    18. Daoudster December 30th, 2009 at 7:13 pm

I’m Jewish and I’m not a racist. Does this mean that the Koran spared me?

    19. Zookeeper December 30th, 2009 at 7:21 pm

uhh so what, being black isn’t exactly popular in Pakistan or Lebanon lool. A lot of people have this sickness in their hearts. Alhamdulillah Islam is the solution to this, if only they would embrace Islam and the Muslims would embrace Islam wholeheartedly.

This case is particularly stupid because these confused poor souls are actually doing all the dirty work for the people that hate them. If I were them I would say screw Israel and go back to Ethiopia and hold my head high.

    20. Daoudster December 30th, 2009 at 7:25 pm

I heard there’s a racist white cop in the states who still hates blacks.

    21. MR December 30th, 2009 at 11:32 pm

      Regarding Advertisements
I apologize for the inappropriate ads. I try to ban as much as possible, but the way Google works it detects the words on the page and grabs the ads based on that, thus the Israeli ads. My ban list is extremely long and extensive.

    22. al-suyuufi December 31st, 2009 at 12:54 am

I don’t know what you mean by does the quran “spare” you, that verse I provided doesn’t imply that ALL Jews are like that.

    23. burhan December 31st, 2009 at 1:04 am

Lots of Arabs are racist, Chinese are racist, Japanese–racist…You name the ethnic group and there will be some recognizable and pronounced racism within that group. That is different from systemic or policy enforced racism. The Israelis certainly demonstrate systemic racism regarding their treatment of Palestinians, but in this specific case linked in the post, it was just some dumb kids who have no power. That’s why spreading this kind of thing is just pumping up outrage with no real cause. It is ghaffla and should be ignored rather than magnified.

    24. Daoudster December 31st, 2009 at 2:30 am

I think history has proven that humans have a racist mentality in general.

    25. al-suyuufi December 31st, 2009 at 8:20 am

Yes, but claiming to be God’s chosen race is taking a step beyond the standard human racism, dontcha think?

    26. Daoudster December 31st, 2009 at 2:35 pm

That is scripture. The actions and feelings of those who follow this religion aren’t generally any worse than people who follow other religions or no religion at all.

    27. Daoudster December 31st, 2009 at 2:59 pm

I forgot to mention that I don’t study scripture at all, but I recall there being misconceptions (by many non-Jews and some Jews themselves) about the Jews as God’s chosen people. Judaism teaches that God is the God of all people and you don’t need to be Jewish to receive God’s redemption and being Jewish doesn’t make you any better than anyone else. The part about being “chosen” has to do with the additional duties and responsibilities to carry out all the commandments. The Jews were the last nation to be offered the Torah by God and He did so only after all other nations had refused – the religion teaches that God literally had to hold a mountain over the heads of the Jews- that the Jews received the Torah as the lowliest of nations so that all things that happened to the Jews could be attributed to God and God alone and not to the attributes and the abilities of the Jewish people. Judaism also teaches that its easier for non-Jews to get to the world to come as he/she has to only follow the Seven Noahide commandments. So not only are Jews not rewarded for their extra responsibilities and duties, they also have less of chance to get to the world to come unless the extra duties with the ramifications as a Jew.

    28. Munawar January 1st, 2010 at 10:16 pm

AA MR – All Jews are not racist. Not good to paint all people with the same brush.

    29. Hoyadaa January 26th, 2010 at 2:08 pm

Wow… This is just horrible. But, not surprising in the least. I really have no sympathy for those Ethiopians whatsoever. What they are doing is wrong. Down with occupation. Like someone said not all Jews are racist or bad people.
