It’s been a long time with lots of fun, educational, spiritual, controversial and outrageous posts over an entire decade. The blog was bound to come to an end as do everything.
I ask Allah to forgive me for anything wrong I have said. I ask anyone who may have been hurt by my blog to forgive me. Anything good that I have written is from Allah. Anything bad is from myself and the whispers of the shaytan.
May Allah take away any suffering from any Muslim. May Allah remove the injustice around the world. May Allah bring peace to war infested lands. May Allah forgive all the wrong doers. May Allah guide all the misguided and continue to guide the guided.
Oh Allah! Forgive the Muslim men and women. Forgive the believing men and women. Those who are alive and those who died. You are indeed the One who listens and accepts all supplications.
Servants of Allah! Indeed Allah orders us to be just and to excel in what we do. Be generous and to take care of our kin and relatives. Never do what is forbidden of all sins and not to transgress. He almighty advises you so you can remember.
Verily, Salah prevents evil deeds and misconduct.
With that said, my last and final post is done.

I’m on reddit on a daily basis. It’s basically a community that votes different submissions from around the web. I use this to get the latest news around the world and in America. The politics and world news subreddits are very good. - Twitter
I find some of the most craziest links on here. You have to really search and follow the right people. @IslamBlog and @muslimvoices are pretty good of aggregating a lot of links around the web regarding Islam and Muslims.
List for Islamic knowledge:
- Halal Tube
The number one reason I made that site was for myself to organize lectures. I basically listen to all my stuff from there. If I find something, I add it. I know there is a submit form for anyone to add, but I’ve been lazy with that. Hopefully now that MR has come to an end I will be able to work on Halal Tube more often. - IslamQA.com
I use it to find hadith related to questions I have, not necessarily to find a fatwa. - SearchTruth
Easy way to find things from the Quran and Hadith. - Read!
I read books.

It’s true that all good things must come to an end… but I still can’t help but ask: why are you closing the blog? Even if you don’t have time to post something everyday, considering the google ranking of your site, it seems a shame to close it completely.

Yeah definetely what iMuslim is saying. Don’t close this blog. You’ve developed an established and recognized site. All that years of effort shouldn’t go to waste.
If you can no longer run it, pass the responsibility to another Muslim Brother(s) who has proven capabilities in blogging and website running.
First I would like to thank you MR for entertaining us AND letting us benefit from his daily posts. Secondly, I think MR is pretty busy considering him not posting on a daily basis anymore. I don’t want to start something but, there was so much radicalism creeping onto this site. I wouldn’t be surprised if the FBI was monitoring this site. From calling Muslims to jihad to racism against Jews. It was scary and I think MR would enjoy the freedom without worrying about something he doesn’t condone. Nevertheless it’s the internet and it’s free speech so what the heck? Jizakallah again MR. Instead of going on all those fitnah websites on the internet I would always check up on this site. I forgive you for anything that you might have posted to which it might have angered me. I hope everybody else also does the same all in good will. Wa’Asalam.

I am deeply saddened by this, and can’t help thinking- why must it be MR blog?
Seriously, although I don’t frequent here, when do I come here, I really do learn things, and I enjoy my visits- God, how come MR finds these stuff.
It’s a shock to see you leave, and I hope it’s not permanent.
As some have already pointed out, it takes some time and work to build up a history that gives a blog it’s following and legitimacy. It’s a lot of asset for the ummah that we can potentially lose here.
At the least, please keep the archives available. If not, please share the xml file with us, we’ll see what we can do with it.

Wow this is catastrophic for muslim blogosphere. At a time when all within all topics on the blogosphere are adapting and changing I suppose some will use this time for an exit. I can’t really hate on that. It’s tough running a blog,VERY time consuming. However I agree with others you should definitely look into allowing others to take this blog and continue on.
Though I mostly post with mixtape/Hip Hop blogosphere (but will be branching out into other subjects soon) I will be happy to contribute a post or two and I’m sure others would be as well.
All you need is at least three bloggers who will post something at least once a week and this blog can continue on. Something to think about you know?

I really found your blog beneficial, and you were good at what you did. Your efforts and legacy in this website and halaltube will carry with you wherever you go.
No other blog compares to yours. You’ve drawn readers from all around the world with one goal, to spread the truth and educate others about Islaam. Mashallah you were successful every minute through it.
All good in the world always has an end, and this blog is no exception. We understand that you no longer have the free time like you did when you were younger, and that you have a family and other responsibilities to take care of.
It’s going to be upsetting for me to take this blog off my bookmarks, because every post I read I gathered new insight and discovered something new. I only wish that you keep this website online, along with your other websites (halaltube) so that newcomers will discover beneficial lectures and blog posts as well.

Dude! You’re the Amir of the blogging world- now where will all the tabloid and rumors go to? I never touched those discussions cuz I figured, “MRs blog will handle it” Your the hungama man!
Seriously, this site was an outlet for discussion and if you stop and review, it had a real impact on the American Muslim community (remember Sami Yusuf, AlMaghrib boycott, and the Muslim rapper dudes?) and played a role in how we’ve learned things.
I think you should consider getting someone else to take over now. How about making MR an American Muslim tradition! Perhaps this is a good opportunity then maybe to hand off your blog to some Muslim activists (Islamic relief, MANA, MAC, or YM) because they could use the web traffic for a good cause and hence give you a sadaqa jariyah?
This is an amanah (responsibility, trust) so don’t take it lightly!
No one just gets up and walks away!!!
