Boycotting Israel is a Federal Crime in America

I give the Zionists mad props for pulling this one:

The Bureau is charged with administering and enforcing the Antiboycott Laws under the Export Administration Act. Those laws discourage, and in some circumstances, prohibit U.S. companies from furthering or supporting the boycott of Israel sponsored by the Arab League, and certain Moslem countries, including complying with certain requests for information designed to verify compliance with the boycott. Compliance with such requests may be prohibited by the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and may be reportable to the Bureau.

I thought America supported a “free market” system.  Why don’t they make a law prohibting American companies from building factories overseas in order to take advantage of cheap labor causing many Americans to go job less.  I don’t think George Washington or Thomas Jefferson or John Adams would be proud of America now.

Startling—and stomach turning : where Palestinians are involved, memory and sense of proportion fail us. The Jewish conscience, justifiably, has long called upon the world’s powers and upon their citizens to remain vigilant, never to forget -in the name of “the duty of memory”- the atrocities, massacres and genocides of the past. But where the State of Israel is involved, we are expected to set all sense of proportion aside, to leap to conclusions. Suddenly, it would be assumed that these are two equally powerful belligerents. After a six-month ceasefire, one of the two parties to the conflict (the Palestinians) is said to have broken the truce by unleashing its rockets. The victim of aggression (Israel) is acting solely in self-defense—if we are to believe the version sold to the world by Israel, and relayed by complacent and complicit Western media with the full support of the Bush administration and of many European governments. The bravest among them can barely bring themselves to point out Israel’s “disproportionate” reaction. What courage!

Dick Cheney is a Criminal, Indicted in Texas!

Alhamdulillah! Obama, please keep Guantanamo Bay open for Dick Cheney but free everyone else.

Texas grand jury indicts Cheney, Gonzales of crime

HOUSTON (Reuters) – A grand jury in South Texas indicted U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney and former attorney General Alberto Gonzales on Tuesday for “organized criminal activity” related to alleged abuse of inmates in private prisons.

The indictment has not been seen by a judge, who could dismiss it.

The grand jury in Willacy County, in the Rio Grande Valley near the U.S.-Mexico border, said Cheney is “profiteering from depriving human beings of their liberty,” according to a copy of the indictment obtained by Reuters.

The indictment cites a “money trail” of Cheney’s ownership in prison-related enterprises including the Vanguard Group, which owns an interest in private prisons in south Texas.

Former attorney general Gonzales used his position to “stop the investigations as to the wrong doings” into assaults in county prisons, the indictment said.

Cheney’s office declined comment. “We have not received any indictments. I can’t comment on something we have not received,” said Cheney’s spokeswoman Megan Mitchell.

The indictment, overseen by county District Attorney Juan Guerra, cites the case of Gregorio De La Rosa, who died on April 26, 2001, inside a private prison in Willacy County.

The grand jury wrote it made its decision “with great sadness,” but said they had no other choice but to indict Cheney and Gonzales “because we love our country.”

Texas is the home state of U.S. President George W. Bush.

Bush and his Republican administration, which first took office in January 2001, leave the White House on January 20 after the November presidential elections won by Democrat Barack Obama. Gonzales was attorney general from 2005 to 2007.

Obama Haters/Lovers – Bush is still the President!

There is a lot of love and hate in the Muslim blogosphere regarding Obama and his moves after he became President-elect.  I’m neutral right now, because Bush is still the President until Jan. 20, 2009.  That’s more than 2 months of Bush’s policies.  Obama can select all the people he wants in his cabinet and talk about all his policy changes, but nothing will happen until January 21, 2009.

Now the Obama lovers and haters have a few things in common.  They fail realize that Obama is:

  1. …not a Muslim, so he’s not subject to the Qur’an and Sunnah
  2. …not in control, because Bush still is.
  3. …not the best President ever since [insert current best President], because he has not even started his Presidency.
  4. …not perfect.  He’s not even close to being perfect.  He’s made many mistakes in his campaign of which Ralph Nader highlighted a few.  He’s also made mistakes as a Senator (voting for the billion dollar bail out plan which gave the crooks more money to thrive off of).
  5. …not going to please everyone.  He will especially not please Muslims, because many of us don’t really care about American politics nor participate in the government.  So those who don’t care, will not be cared for.
  6. …not going to stop killing Muslims.

And lastly the most important fact to remember is that Barack Obama is President-ELECT.  He will be the President of the United States of America and Commander-in-Chief on January 20, 2009, inshaAllah.

Remember, we still have more than 2 months of Bush!

This post is dedicated to HAhmed, Jinnzaman, Obama fans at MuslimMatters, Muslim Republicans, Egyptian Gumbo, Sulayman, Tariq Nelson, Umar Lee, Abu Yusuf, MOFW and the rest of the Obama lovers and haters in the American Muslim Ummah.

For the rest of us (including myself) who are neither the Obama hater or lover, please join me on my blog on Jan. 19, 2009, to celebrate the last day of Bush.

Interesting perspective on him.  M. J. Rosenberg, a Jew who knows Rahm said:

Before the netroots starts attacking Emanuel as an AIPAC stooge, Likudnik, or whatever, let me weigh in.

It’s not true. His father is an Israeli and was active in the Irgun, the terrorist group founded by Menachem Begin which famously bombed Jerusalem’s King David Hotel.

I don’t know what the old man’s politics on Israel are today (not all Irgunists were rightwingers). I suspect that, if he was still a rightwinger, he would not have produced a bunch of liberal kids. (Rahm’s brother, the Jeremy Piven one, writes often on HuffPo and is a total Hollywood liberal).

Anyway, what I know about Emanuel on Israel is that he was a key player in getting President Clinton to embrace Oslo and to hold the Rabin-Arafat signing ceremony. I remember standing on the lawn and watching George Stephanopoulos and Rahm Emanuel all teary over “the handshake.”

As a Member of Congress, Emanuel was not all that hawkish either. He supports Israel (so do I) but he definitely supports the peace process too. My guess: he’ll be the one encouraging Obama to go for an Israeli-Palestinian deal the first year. And, when the rightwing Jews complain, he’ll tell them to stick it up their a**.

And they will.

I think as Muslims we have to realize that there may have been many Zionists in the past who wanted Palestine to be erased from maps, but they have come to realize that isn’t going to happen so they are settling for peace instead.  I also believe that the Zionists are getting older and dying out similar to the Republican party.  Their racist and ignorant ideas are getting old and dying with them.  The younger generation is different and part of the “hope for change” movement.

This letter is much better than Ralph Nader’s.  More positive and opening.  I am impressed by President Mahmoud Ahmadiniejad.  It is very surprising that out of all the Muslim leaders, only the President of Iran has the intellect (or insanity, some will say) and braveness to write to the President.

In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Mr. Barack Obama

President-elect of the United States of America

I congratulate you on having gained the majority of the votes of those who took part in the election. As you know, the chances that God gives to his subjects pass swiftly. They can be used for the perfection of humanity and to the benefit of nations or, God forbid, to the detriment of nations.

I hope you will choose to honor the real interests of people and justice and equity over the insatiable appetites of the selfish minority. Use this chance to serve to the extent you can. And leave a good name behind for yourself.

People expect an immediate and clear response to the pressure for fundamental change in the American government’s policies, both foreign and domestic. This is the desire of all the world’s nations and of the American nation as well, and it should be the objective and basis of all your future government’s programs and actions.

On the one hand, the American nation, which has spiritual inclinations, expects your government to focus its energy and will on serving the people; dealing with the current economic crisis; restoring the country’s standing, morale and hope; eradicating poverty and discrimination; and renewing respect for individuals, their safety and their rights. It also expects policies that will strengthen the foundations of the family — part of the teachings of the holy prophets, who are also revered in America.

On the other hand, the nations of the world expect an end to policies based on warmongering, invasion, bullying, trickery, the humiliation of other countries by the imposition of biased and unfair requirements, and a diplomatic approach that has bred hatred for America’s leaders and undermined respect for its people. They want to see actions based on justice, respect for the rights of human beings and nations, friendship and non-intervention in the affairs of others. They want the American government to keep its interventions within its own country’s borders.

In the sensitive Middle East region, in particular, the expectation is that the unjust actions of the past 60 years will give way to a policy encouraging full rights for all nations, especially the oppressed nations of Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The great civilization-building and justice-seeking nation of Iran would welcome major, fair and real changes, in policies and actions, especially in this region.

If steps are taken in the path of righteousness, toward the goal of carrying out the teachings of the holy prophets, it is hoped that almighty God will help and that the enormous damage done in the past will be somewhat diminished.

I ask the high God to grant all of humanity and all nations health and happiness, honor and prosperity, and to grant rulers and officials the ability to learn from the past and to use every chance to serve, to spread love and kindness, to eradicate oppression, to do justice and to follow the holy guidelines.

Mahmoud Ahmadiniejad

Excellent.  It’s mostly on Obama’s relation with Palestine and Israel. Must read:

Open letter to Senator Barack Obama

Dear Senator Obama:

In your nearly two-year presidential campaign, the words “hope and change,” “change and hope” have been your trademark declarations. Yet there is an asymmetry between those objectives and your political character that succumbs to contrary centers of power that want not “hope and change” but the continuation of the power-entrenched status quo.

I am not attacking Obama, but I’m watching him closely. This guy might be an excellent Democratic Politician, but it is interesting to note his relationship with Israel.

Representative Rahm Emanuel of Illinois.  Source: New York Times

From Wikipedia:

His father, the Jerusalem-born Benjamin M. Emanuel, is a pediatrician and was a member of the Irgun, a militant Zionist group active during the British Mandate of Palestine.

Basically his father was a Jewish terrorist.

So he is done pleasing Israel.  Now what will be his next move?  Yes, I voted for him and I still stand by it, becuase I didn’t want Sarah Palin in office, and I want the Iraq war to end.  I also want the economy to improve.

I don’t expect Barack Obama do everything pleasing to me or anyone.

The Big Day Has Arrived! [Recovered]

IMPORTANT NOTE: This post was lost due to my former-host’s server crash.  I recovered the content, but not the comments.

I’m extremely worried and excited at the same time.

By the way, this is the first election I am voting Democratic. It is also my second election I’m voting.

What if McCain wins?

10:10 AM: I went to my polling place.  Upon seeing the line, I knew it would be a long wait.  One and a half hour later, I was only half way through the line still standing outside.  I had to leave for work.  Will try again later.

6:15 PM: I voted for Barack Obama!  Took me 5 minutes to do.  No line.

Barack Obama Willing to Negotiate with the Taliban

This is extremely good news, and makes me want to shout at all the Muslims in Texas, Virginia, Ohio, Florida and any other strong Republican states to get out there and vote for Barack Obama! The fact that he wants to leave Iraq and now negotiate with the Taliban is extremely beneficial and good news for the Muslim world.

You can listen to the TIME magazine audio clip of their personal interview with him here.

How can any Muslim support McCain now? He wants to continue the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and wants to invade Iran.

The only thing that is in the way now for a peaceful outcome in Iraq and Afghanistan are the stubborn elements in the Muslim world. The lunatics and ‘thugs’ who roam around calling for Jihad and killing of other Muslims who are “deviant”.

I personally believe that Democracy doesn’t work in the Muslim world, because every Muslim wants their own way and don’t want to compromise. As much as I dislike the Egyptian, Saudi or UAE government, you have to admit they have stability and the sqaush any type of “thug jihad” mentality amongst the Ummah.

There is no real Democratic Muslim government in the Muslim world. It’s all dictators or kingdoms. The countries without dictators or a royal family is volatile and in chaos right now (Iraq, Afghanistan and soon to be Pakistan).

Allah knows best. May Allah (swt) end the unjust wars and protect the innocent! Ameen.
