Ooopss…Domain Expired!

mujahideenryder.net expired on April 12, and my domain holder didn’t remind me, so I sort of lost the site for a few hours.  Alhamdulillah I got it back and I paid for the next 5 years.

No worries brothers and sisters, MR is here to stay for as long as Allah (swt) wills!

Props to all the Muslim mothers around the world for having lots of children!

Muslims more numerous than Catholics

By ALESSANDRA RIZZO, Associated Press Writer
Sun Mar 30, 2:48 PM ET

VATICAN CITY - Islam has surpassed Roman Catholicism as the world’s largest religion, the Vatican newspaper said Sunday.

“For the first time in history, we are no longer at the top: Muslims have overtaken us,” Monsignor Vittorio Formenti said in an interview with the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano. Formenti compiles the Vatican’s yearbook.

He said that Catholics accounted for 17.4 percent of the world population — a stable percentage — while Muslims were at 19.2 percent.

“It is true that while Muslim families, as is well known, continue to make a lot of children, Christian ones on the contrary tend to have fewer and fewer,” the monsignor said.

Formenti said that the data refer to 2006. The figures on Muslims were put together by Muslim countries and then provided to the United Nations, he said, adding that the Vatican could only vouch for its own data.

When considering all Christians and not just Catholics, Christians make up 33 percent of the world population, Formenti said.

Spokesmen for the Vatican and the United Nations did not immediately return phone calls seeking comment Sunday.

Busy Life

SubhanAllah!  These past few days, I have been really busy.  I haven’t gotten a chance to blog or even read blogs.  Halal Tube has also been slow in updating.  I just added a few lectures a few minutes ago.  Dhikr Tube hasn’t been officially launched yet.  I haven’t even touched it for weeks.  Sports Halaqah is pretty much dead and I’ll probably do the janazah in the coming weeks.  It’ll be re-focused to marketing Muslim sport leagues in the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and the rest of the non-Muslim world.  I also have another major ground-breaking idea for the Muslim online ummah.  I can’t give out any details, but all I can say is it’s ground-breaking and very different from anything out there.

Heads up for all those who live in the DC-MD area.  If you live around there, please let me know of any active Muslim communities.

Duas are requested from all those who read this.  May Allah (swt) accept your duas.  Ameen!

The Surprise is Here!

Several days ago, I posted about a surprise I had for all the MR readers. Well here it is:

Mandazi Network
mandazi.net

Basically I started my own company. Yes it’s official. Registered in New York with all the documentation. My goal is to get rid of the middle man in terms of getting advertisers to advertise on my sites. In other words, limit or stop my use of Google Ads and deal with advertisers directly, especially Muslim business owners, website owners, and other Muslim advertisers. I’ve seen companies like Muxlim.com and Zabihah.com have success in selling ad space to Muslim advertisers. With sites like my own blog and Halal Tube receiving a decent amount of web traffic, I thought I could also do the same. Thus I launched Mandazi Network Inc. which owns and maintains all the websites I have designed and started.

So if you want to advertise directly on any of my sites or know of any Muslim business, websites or organizations that need more traffic, let them know about the Mandazi Network!

At Gun Point

A few hours ago I had just come back from playing my weekly basketball game (I’m part of the South Asian Basketball League - Basketballers team). I was with some close friends of mine, MoSin, Ohmz, Kingheer, Brighton Beach Waqas and TallDarknKhansome. We randomly started to talk about the Kings Park Psychiatric Center on Long Island. MoSin and TallDarknKhansome had already been there with Shakin Shadhili (formerly known as Contemplating Chishti) and N Veed. They boasted of how scary it was and they did research online and read about how the place was haunted and infested with drug addicts, homeless people and other weird stories…

The black phase is out and this grayish-white with sprinkles of blue combo is now in.

Here is a brief history of the themes of my blog over the years:

The surprise is coming soon. Tell me what you think of the new theme/design. I like it.

MR Surprise and New Theme!

I’m getting bored of this theme, so in about a day or two, you will see some massive appearance changes on my blog.

Also, I have a surprise for all my readers out there.  Well its not really a surprise, but surprise is a catchy word so it worked well for a title.  Many of my family and friends already know, but not the general readers on my blog.  So inshaAllah I’ll give you a clue.  It has to do with all the sites I started and maintain (MR.net, halaltube.com, sportshalaqah.com, dhikrtube.com).  It also has to involve the advertising on it.

Who can guess what it is?  (Family and close friends who know are not allowed to respond!)

Happy New Year! 1429!

Welcome to 1429!  Today is the 1st of Muharram and thus the first day of the Islamic new year.

So goals for this year are:

  • Find a Job!
  • Pray more, memorize more, and do more dhikr
  • Gain more muscle mass
  • Get Xbox 360 and/or PS3 with Call of Duty 4
  • Increase hits for Sports Halaqah
  • Think of new sites to make!

What are your goals in 1429?

Christmas…

…has nothing to do with religion.

…is on Dec. 25 which originally was a pagan holiday.

…is not on the day Jesus (peace be upon him) was born.

…is not in the Bible.

…should be re-named Christma$.

…is the best day to get to fajr at the masjid. No traffic!

This post has been inspired by the wonderful Holiday commercials on the TV, radio, Internet and every shopping mall I have been to in the past 2 months.

Is Christmas From Christianity? By Shaykh Abdullah Hakim Quick:
